Popped into Johns with a nasty eye infection, I was not a customer of his but I still received 5star care from the moment I stepped inside the opticians. The receptionist was brilliant and John was also brilliant. He really went out his way for me and I felt I was getting such brilliant care. He stayed behind after hours to accommodate my work schedule and even came in on a weekend to check up on my progress. I could not recommend enough, a brilliant local optician, exemplary care. I am now a customer! Thanks John and team. I Will always appreciate how you helped me that day. Duncan

Really impressed with the services I received. Got white wash in my eye and went to A&E needing 1L saline to wash eye out, sent home with eye drops. Following day was struggling witha pressure feeling. Went to pharmacy but they couldn't help as I had been to A&E day before. Was advised to go next door to John. I wish I knew John could have seen me at the start rather than me going to A&E which at the time I felt was not needed. Further eye drops and a review check up a few days later. Was defiantly lucky not to do more damage, back to full recovery. Thank you John and the team.

John and his team are deserving of the highest praise.The very best of the latest technical equipment, matched by a very high level of knowledge throughout the whole team.All of this is assisted by the warm welcome and high level of customer service that I experience on every occasion I attend.When collecting new glasses, as I have recently, they are checked and checked again with you to ensure that everything is 100%. I stated with a swollen eye whist on holiday. Contacted a local GP who asked me to call and make an appointment. An hour and half later I could be seen by the optometrist who gave my eyes a through check up and gave me a prescription for some cream.The service was superb from start to finish and very polite and professional. I asked how much I owed to be informed there was no charge! What amazing service, can?t recommend them enough.

I can not thank John Caulfields Opticians yet again!!! Last year I purchased Tiffany and co glasses ? and Shona is honestly the only lady I?ve ever had within many opticians I?ve used over the years who measures glasses to absolutely perfection. I have just purchased some ray ban sunglasses ?? and Shona has measured to perfect yet again!! I travel in from Dumfries as this is the only opticians I can trust to give me perfect glasses! Thank you also to one of the kind gentleman who helped me today in the store. Best opticians ever!! Absolutely loving my new sun glasses.

Excellent care & service by John, Andy & team at my recent appointment at the Kirkcudbright practice. Very professional, friendly & approachable with time taken to review & explain eye test results and help choose & fit appropriate frames and lenses. I have been going here every two years since it opened in 2013 and was most fortunate in 2019 to be quickly seen & referred by John to DGRI when sudden & alarming deterioration occurred in the vision of one eye. After care is very efficient too, especially welcome when a young dog has a passion for reshaping your glasses!

I cannot speak too highly about the care and professionalism I have received at John Caulfield Opticians. My decision to approach John for a second opinion on the increasingly poor state of my eyesight was an excellent one. Following tests, I was referred to DGRI Ophthalmology and within weeks I underwent the first cataract removal operation, and await the second. Throughout this time, I have found John and the staff approachable, understanding and friendly; I have been treated as an individual rather than just another client. My thanks go to all at the Lockerbie practice.

I can?t say enough nice things about John Caulfied?s, his professionalism, he truly cares about helping his patients.He is exceedingly thorough in his work and goes above and beyond the normal opticians.My son has not double but triple vision which most opticians haven?t even tried to help?John is working on experimental glasses to correct this. Donald my son and myself are truly grateful for his help.

I have just been to John, for the first time, for a thorough examination as I wanted a second opinion on the overall state of my eyes at the grand old age of 62. He impressed me with the depth of his knowledge, the high-tech equipment at his disposal and his ability to discuss quite complex issues in layman's terms. He will be my 'go-to-guy' from now on. An excellent optometrist.

The previous review was by a rather grumpy customer whom I cannot share the rating with. My experience is just the opposite. Over several months I have been in need of assessments, sometimes at short notice, and unfailingly, John Caulfield was there to help. No fiscal quid pro quo was necessary as suggested by the previous reviewer. In the contrary, the team at this ophthalmology outfit went far beyond basic care. From receptionist to optometrist, consistently displayed ?can do? attitude, professionalism, courtesy and helpfulness was the order of the day. They cannot be faulted!They should be congratulated!

Always had superb professional service from John and the staff at Lockerbie. It's the personal touch from all the staff that makes the difference which you certainly don't get from the other so called big high street opticians. Excellent selection of frames to choose from too. Cant recommended John and his staff highly enough.
