Myself, my partner and his little girl turned up at ecclefechan hotel on Friday the 14th of July at 18.30 to see if they had any rooms available as our journey from Blackpool back home to Angus ended up being a disaster. We were greeted by a lovely lady and man who made us feel very welcome. The lady who I assume is the owner managed to get us a family room organised for the night and made sure we had everything we needed. We could not be any more thankful to them both for helping us in a time that was really stressful. We had the best nights sleep and we?re ready to face the 3 hour journey back home. Thank you both so very much for helping us we really appreciate it!

A one night stop as we headed north. Plenty of parking at rear, don?t be put off by the delaminated look at the rear! Our room was lovely, and we had a wonderful welcome from the owner. Newly renovated room with a really comfy bed and high quality linen. En-suite very clean and spacious. After a long day in the car we were pleased to get supper at the hotel, very friendly bar man and owner. Great breakfast. Thank you.

Started badly could not use the car park, due to large pot holes. The back of the hotel is very dilapidated areas appear to be falling down. Inside smells of cooking fat and damp. The room was a surprise clean, but bed sheets felt damp. No heating or hot water had to report it, when we could find someone. Then to finish off no draught beer and very little choice on the menu. So disappointed.

Stayed here just for one night during a round to Scotland. Great welcome, couldn't be better. There were some parts of the hotel that needed renovating, but we had a lovely room with a big bed. Had evening meal in the pub with a lovely open fire. Huge portions and really tasty food. Thanks to the chef.

Called for a one night stop on our way north. The twin room we ordered was a double! The bar had no beer because it was busy yesterday, items on the menu were sold out and the person in charge had gone away, we will not return

We stayed here on Hogmanay in the family room. The owners could not have been more welcoming, nothing was too much of an effort for them. The room was spacious, immaculate with comfy beds. Reasonably priced and well stocked bar. Breakfast was outstanding, even with our fussy children, they were very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

Real little gem located central to Annan Gretna and Lockerbie. Rooms are great standard with ensuite bathrooms everything you need.Rooms: Great standard decor is really nice.Walkability: If your here for walks they is nice little walks near by but you may need a car if you want to look further a field.Food & drinks: Bar and restaurant on site with open fire cosy cottage feel. Breakfast room separate which I could see also could double up as a dance floor for functions like afternoon tea dances.

Great hotel in the centre of the village. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, especially Steve. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, warm and spacious, as are the bathrooms and the super king size bed which we had was fantastic. Great breakfast on offer and we just loved the welcoming bar with the roaring fire.

Very dated and rough around the edges but in a quiet location. It's in need of modernising and needs some looking after to get it up to scratch. Not a comfy bed and pillows weren't great either. Strangely decorated room as well with no desk etc and so difficult to do any work. Lovely staff however, just let down by the rooms / hotel itself.Rooms: Very dated and poorly finished.

Driving up from Derbyshire to the Highlands and needed a one night stopover. Ecclefechan seemed a good place to stop, and the Hotel did not disappoint. Nice room, friendly welcome, good evening meal and a great Scottish breakfast. Bar with open fire...only one hand pump beer on offer, which was an alright Greene King IPA and would have liked to have seen a local ale on offer!

Lovely landlord, big room, nicely if inexpensively furnished, clean, great dog friendly bar serving decent pub food. Lovely breakfast. Very close to motorway and with a lovely riverside walk for the dog just 2 miles away.
