Nice cafe and great view over the sea. The food was really good, but unfortunately the service was a bit disappointing. The staff was not really friendly and we did not feel welcome. The first time we experienced this in Scotland.
The food and drinks were good anyway and the price was fair.

I had a lovely stay close by in Kelly's Pod but with only 2 days here I did not get any supplies to cook for myself. I was not dissapointed by the food available here, I was extremely impressed! I called ahead and said I was vegan. Service was friendly, and the vegan feta caprese salad for starter was lovely, and the home cooked vegan curry for dinner was fresh and home cooked. I asked if they'd make a different option if I returned the next day which of course they were happy to do, and had trio of vegan dips, and stuffed yellow peppers with a homemade ratatouille style filling. Both evenings the food was lovely

Fantastic little cafe and shop. Very convenient if you are getting the ferry to Harris. I had lunch here and a coffee earlier on. There aren't many eating options around here so this place is ideal and offers free wi-fi as well.

Lovely and much needed shop in the area. The bistro serves some lovely food and the staff are very friendly.

UNUSUAL SCOTTISH ?HOSPITALITY?...
In seven years of travelling in Scotland, we had NEVER encountered waitresses who were so unwelcoming...!
It was unclear whether they were lazy... or simply in a bad mood... The fact is that it was not a pleasant experience for us, especially when compared to those we had had up to that point :- (
We ate: Soup of the Day, with vegetables AND Barley. They didn't tell us there was barley in it... and even though it may seem like a minor detail, it was an oversight...Then we had Brioche Bap with Smokehouse Salmon: the salmon was definitely good! The bread, however... well, we threw it all away, it was definitely too pappy!

Had lunch here on Monday. Loved the food and the ambience (and the in-depth commentary from the lady sat at the next table ?) so much so that we are booked in again for this evenings meal.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to the beach. Great menu with local produce. Saw a short eared owl flying around while we were having lunch!

Amazingly well stocked shop, with a wee bistro attached.
Beware the wifi. Unless you?re on the EE network, you?ll struggle to get any mobile signal in these parts. You?ll then likely spend forever trying to connect to the advertised wifi network, which will not work, at all, and you will eventually pay £8 to EE for a wifi service that kicks you off every few minutes. If you ask for help, you will, sadly, receive none. This is my only gripe, but it is a big deal when dealing with malfunctioning ferries or overbooked B&Bs; it needs fixing.
