Disgusting place I had the displeasure of staying here a few weeks ago the pub is dirty the service is shocking and the place is just run down in general. It?s the only pub opened in this town due to the owner buying all the pubs and shutting them all down very dodgy character this family.Rooms: Not even cleaned probably

Guys if your looking for a bed to be in drunk then go for it. However the company I work for looks after the guys when they are working away and this was the only hotel/ accommodation available. The rooms varied, one was about 30c° with no hot water or shower, only a bath. The other had a shower but the TV and lights did not work. The noise from downstairs was unreal so if your after a sleep while sobber forget it. The rooms were clean enough and my bed was comfy but pointless if you can't sleep due to noise.

A regrettable experience ? we chose the ?homemade?Steak pie for dinner at £14 and it has to be the worst dinner I?ve ate. It felt like an eternity to eat the chunks of steak due to them being overcooked, very bland. The lumpy mash potato was a disappointment and to add to this whilst eating it i was jagged in the roof of my mouth with a sharp piece of plastic which was embedded in the food, i swiftly reported it and overheard the kitchen staff mention that ?it will be from the container it was in? obviously been frozen in a container and dropped. The Chocolate cake for dessert was nice and was a big slice, i was also advised by the person i was with the soup he had was excellent. The rooms are clean but basic and felt cold due to no heating, however, you are provided with a portable electric heater to use at your leisure. The bar area of the hotel was ideal with drinks Priced reasonably, the addition of a pool table & darts board was good. We were told we should pay for our room and food the following morning before leaving and when we got downstairs we were advised the owner who would deal with it wasn?t in and we would have to wait as he couldn?t use the card machine. An hour later he showed up and sorted our bill. For the price it is definitely not worth it.

It?s ok .staff friendly enough. Can be cold at night as no extra blankets. Here for work so comfortable for a night or too.. long stay no. Bonus there?s a cracking takeaway 50ft away for hot food.

I had a booking at this hotel recently as part of a 7 room group. We arrived at 1130pm after a three hour trip from Glasgow. Most of us had taken the train from London and were very tired. When we arrived we met with Stan the owner and he explained he only had three rooms left. He mentioned that he thought we were arriving by 730pm. We had booked and paid for rooms. He arranged for 3 people to stay in the 3 rooms he had, put two of us in the Argyll hotel and then pulled one of the locals out of the bar and had him take 2 of us to his flat to stay in. The guy was nice enough but he was pished drunk. We got to the flat and it was absolutely horrible. The towels were damp and dirty. The bathroom was dirty. The guy kept getting up on the middle of the night and sleepwalking and going to the bathroom..neither of us slept a wink. I didn't climb under the covers as the bed looked dirty and slept in. We were told the next day by one of the locals that Stan, the owner is money hungry and he does this all the time. He owns 6 hotels in Argyll. He resold our rooms to roads workers who walked in as he thought we might be no shows. Doubled his money. What an absolutely unacceptable experience. I will never be back due to this.

Very bad hotel - avoid. Refused to engage with us and charged us for a nights stay and refused to reschedule. Hotel policy is restictive and staff are rude and obfuscate to ensure profit.Have removed from our hotel list to ensure this no longer happens.Do better next time - or dont bother at all.

We checked in to a double room on January 2nd, around 4 pm, and the heating didn't work,We were then given a key to the room next door, again no heating.I went to reception and Stan, the owner, gave me a fan converter heater. It was on all night . Going for a shower in the morning wasn't a nice experience experiencing

Very welcoming and friendly. From the owner to the locals who were in the bar... They were absolutely lovely.Room was very clean and I loved that there was lots of tea, coffee, etc.Thank you for the warm welcome and great stay. I would definitely book here again and have already been recommending to friends.
