My family and I have been visiting Lochgilphead for many years and always call into The Smiddy Bistro for Lunch and a hearty breakfast before we travel home. The staff are amazing, so helpful, and the food is fantastic! So fresh, lovely and well presented. We all love to eat at The Smiddy Bistro.

Nice stop, quite hidden in the alley but easy to find. Had a nice lentil soup when I stopped. Lovely staff - would definitely stop again !

I love this place, the staff are so kind and friendly and the cakes are fantastic and all the times I have been here I have wanted to come back instantly especially for the Cullen skink. 5 stars.

Very quaint, little spot with lots of healthy and tasty lunch items, good coffee and lots of yummy pastries and cakes. The service was lovely and the Cullen skink apparently was a real hit, I will come back and try it myself soon. I had the chicken curry sweet potato (see picture) and it was lovely. Thank you and keep it up! Looking forward to the next 40 years of business

This is an adorable cafe with a great selection. We stopped in for breakfast and they were incredibly accommodating to substitute items if needed. They even had a handful of vegan items which were fantastic (shown in picture). The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Brilliant enjoyed all of it even the Americano was great. I had the haggis with cheese on a bun with a vary varied salad. Wife had prawn croissant. An unique well thought out menu. Tasty food in a cozy environment.

I love the smiddy! It's a small informal gem that serves good food with great service. Handy to book but they will always try to fit you in! The specials menu on the wall is always a delight offering something really delicious! The food is superb. The accompanying salads vary and are a mix of textures and flavours that always surprise! The cakes and desserts deserve a visit in their own right! Make a booking you won't be disappointed!
