Stopped in for dinner after a week in the mountains. The fish and chips were really good. They had a roaring fire, the owner was friendly and accommodating!Food & drinks: Good selection of drinks, the fish and chips were very good. The mac & cheese was also very good. Good portion size for the hungry.

By far the worst "accommodation facility" (no suitable word found) that I had to endure in my entire lifetime.I will now only address facts that you don't want to admit during your stay, but that happened just like that. The entire building is (more than) in need of renovation and I constantly wondered how long this place would last before it collapsed. We had to witness an extremely strange smell every time we were in the corridors. There were piles of boxes and old furniture everywhere, especially down in the entrance area, where I still thought it was all a bad joke. Things got really sad when I wanted to open the window and it fell off its hinge. The sink served its purpose somewhat, with a stagnant stream of water coming out of the tap, but I was able to pull it almost completely out of the wall when I simply turned the tap off again. There was a bathtub that contained a bath curtain, which unfortunately had black and white pieces and was completely moldy. The two beds looked like they were from World War II and they were correspondingly comfortable. When you looked out the window you were able to witness what was probably the biggest sight: the parking lot and the street! Otherwise, apart from the ?Loch Carron?, there was nothing worth seeing or things that could have been done. The food was pretty subpar, especially since my dish had more bones than fish and the sauce didn't taste like anything. It was then that I realized why we were the only guests in this hotel. When a man, probably drunk, rumbled through the corridors at night and shouted victory hymns, I just wanted to get away! But I truly felt sorry for the actually really nice lady at breakfast! After this experience, I would like to use the term "usury" because we ended up paying 115 pounds per person, even though we were actually hoping for compensation after our stay.A definite low point during my trip through Scotland.

Wrong meal served after quite a long wait considering not being busy, staff picking up the plates constantly on the phone and no interaction with customers, very rude in my opinion. Bar staff completely different very

We didn't stay here, so we can not comment on the rooms. However, whilst the staff are friendly and helpful, I would not choose to stay or eat there. Very tired and in need of an update. You have a lovely location. Opening a few doors and windows and getting rid of the stale smel in the bar and conservatory would be a good start. The place has such potential.

I am sorry to have to write something negative on such a lovely 2.5 weeks drive around all of Scotland. First of all, they want you to pay immediately upon arrival. That was literally within the first sentence. You SHOULD definitely see the room before you pay. I can?t stress this enough. The condition is absolutely shameful and I believe the owners, as nice as they are, know this fact already. My initial thought was that I would rather sleep in the car but since we had paid, and there were no other options at that time, we had no choice. First off, the rug was badly soiled to a point where we wouldn?t take off our shoes to walk around. We took the drawers out of the dresser and put our suitcases on them because we didn?t want them to touch the carpet. I had to lay the towels on the floor next to the bed so that when I got up, I didn?t have to put my feet down on the carpet in order to put on my shoes to go to the bathroom. It literally was that bad. When we opened the dresser, there were cloths in there from god knows when. We refused to use the bath obviously. The worse part of the whole thing is that we paid 130£ for the room-As much as much nicer, posher places we stayed at that were remarkable. At least the sheets appeared to be clean. We consider this place highway robbery. Just do what others have already stated. See the room before you pay and decide for yourself. That is extremely important! We stayed in new places just about every night. This was the worst place on our trip and by a large margin. I would compare it to an hourly room if you know what that means. The owners should definitely clean and replace many things. Just getting rid of the carpet would go a long way.

Awesome. Just great. Had a lovely time having dinner and a few drinks at the pubThe owner knows a lot about whisky and we have a lot of lovely conversations. Kind and hard working people. Not just in it for the money, but genuinely kind.Thank you, for making our holiday a bit more special!

I would ask to see the room before paying. God help you if you get room 9. The owners are nice but seem out of their depth at running a hotel. The housekeepers went home with room keys and spares. Room 9 had no usable plugs, a TV with no where to plug it in, a kettle thrown in a junk cupboard, no plug for it anyway. Cheap bed. The toilet is 10 yards away down the corridor, the shower cubicle in your room has no door or shower curtain. No complaints about breakfast. Not my happiest hotel experience. The views are very good, parking is good. Its work in progress, it just needs to be faster, the potential is fantastic .

We were pub guests and had a wonderful time. Good plate of food, especially after a day of hiking. And a nice collection of whiskeys on top. We didn't stay at the hotel but we will come back for that.

Room 1 very tired decor, dirty carpets throughout, bath no shower in 1970's bathroom. No view and sloping ceiling as you are in the eves.Owners are nice people but need to get the hotel refurbished quickly but possibly dont have the funds.I wouldn't stay here again.Food & drinks: Drinks good , food average.

Amazing meal near our location which was just up the road from the Hotel. We were a party of 8 with little ones. We all enjoyed the food and the staff. The bartender and my dad had a nice chat as he lived in Canada close to where we are from for a period of time. Friendly people, good food and all around a lovely dinner experience.

I only had lunch here. The bar looked amazing and if was only going for drinks I would definitely coming back. Very cosy atmosphere in the bar.Food & drinks: I've read some bad reviews, so I was a bit nervous of the food. We had fish and chips. The chips was very nice crispy so that was great. On my fish the batter was too much, but my wasn't nice. The food was okay but I wouldn't recommend it.

Our original B&B booking was cancelled due to owner having ill health so we were transferred to Locharron Hotel.Although the hotel might be classed by some as 'dated', it was very nice, clean and very comfortable. No complaints from me! The new owners are in the throes of updating but as we were advised it is a listed building. The food was excellent, the owners very accommodating and I have no hesitation in recommending. The location was good too.... a lovely walk along the waterfront.Walkability: Lovely walk along the waterfront and beyond.Food & drinks: Food excellent and home cooked!

I had a wonderful stay. The staff was so sweet and helpful, the food was fantastic, the location was beautiful and a short drive from Skye. The room was somewhat sparse but very clean and charming. I stayed on the Isle of Skye the next night and regret not booking two nights here!Rooms: Charming and simpleFood & drinks: Fantastic food and drinks, and a very generously sized and delicious breakfast!
