Lovely spot beside the Strontian hotel. The food is hearty and decent portions and Debbie keeps the pints coming and is good chat. Brilliant little place in a beautiful location. Highly recommend

Food was mediocre, traditional English stuff. Surf&Turf steak was served on mashed potatoes: Bad idea if you want to cut it?, and with loads of brown gravy??? The steak was sour, returned and exchanged for fresh fish and chips. Service was sligthly overwhelmed, but very friendly. Location was stunning. No gluten-free menu or options, but a good recommendation. Glass of Merlot was very good.

Got there a bit late after reserving, apologized and got treated horribly for the rest of the dinner. Waitress and barwoman holding a grudge everytime they talked to us.
It really is a shame because the food was great and i'd still recommend eating there, just remember to check your watch or the staff could get a bit grudgy :)

The location above the water is great. The food is ok and the service is nice but lacks style. In Strontian there are only two restaurants that are open in the evening.

Great village pub with stunning views. Can be very busy in the summer months so make sure you pre book. Generous portions of good pub food. Great benches outside for a drink too.

Staff really lovely but food abysmal.. really over priced for under average food. Shame because they could make the burgers so much better with some relish, gherkins etc. Sald was the only decent bit.

Great food, fantastic location and friendly staff. The options in this area are predictably - due to location - limited, so it was great to find somewhere that had great food and service. Very reasonably priced too. ...and what a view!

Have frequented this establishment many times over the years and never had anything but an excellent experience on every single occasion. That in itself is a rarity these days. Bar staff excellent even in busy times, kitchen staff under pressure deliver ever time, happy friendly waiting staff, all of which are young locals which is so refreshing to see. What's not to love? If you expect The Ritz I'd suggest you try London not Strontian. If you expect good reasonably priced locally sourced food with very good service accompanied by outstanding views then the Bothy Bar and restaurant is certainly for you.
