Okay, the most significant thing about here is that it is the most northerly Indian restaurant we?ve ever eaten in. Food okay, but lacking in spices for Indian cuisine. Also very expensive for what we had.

Arrived on a wet midweek December evening. So no surprise to end up dining alone. A couple were just finishing their meal as I walked in. Food was very good and I was very satisfied. Lower marks for service and atmosphere because it was very quiet.

A really good option for sit down or takeaway. I recommend the chilli garlic tikka.Parking: It is possible to park outside, but if your having a sit down meal, I'd suggest the main carpark in town. It's only a short walk away.

Was our first time coming here and really enjoyed the food, the popadoms and pickle tray starter was lovely, for mains we had dansak and jalfrezi both with chicken tikka and both were lovely. Naan bread and rice were great too. Atmosphere could do with a slight improvement, even the music slightly louder so we didn?t feel quite alone would make a huge improvement. All in all really enjoyed the evening. (The waiter even went out his way to get pink Prosecco) will definitely go back here

Please read a lot of these reviews before considering going. Onion chutney was a chopped onion without seasoning or anything added. Chicken pakora was stodgy and in batter with no spice (sure from Iceland which is actually an insult to Iceland ) No sauce or flavour and £8.50 was disgusting and tasteless so decided to complain. The owner was very rude to us so because to this we decided to pay for what we?d eaten or not eaten and left. The poorest meal and service I have ever experienced and will remember for all the wrong reasons. £12.50 for king prawn starter which was 3 prawns and not KING. £7.95 bottle Cobra lager. Avoid.

Checked other reviews prior to going and was met by a sour faced front of house staff elder gentleman who certainly didn?t make us feel welcome. Almost grudgingly showed us a table. It felt he preferred to do take away so he doesn?t have to work! Just about walked out at that point but it was my wife?s birthday treat so stayed. Glad we stayed as the food was exceptional and despite the lack of welcome and bad service the food made up for it. If it wasn?t for the food it would have been one star and would have wanted to give five stars for food as that would be deserved. Not a nice experience to feel unwanted in hospitality setting and wonder how much longer it will stay open as a dine in with staff as bad as this. However, he did sort out my wife?s left overs into a doggy bag to take way. Use as a take away as food is excellent, if you dine in ignore the grumpy, sour faced elder staff member that spoils the possibilities of a food place that has excellent food. No need for such bad service.

Some of the best Indian food I've had. The menu has a wide range of Indian plates, and everything we got was incredible. Super authentic and tasty. And there's alcohol! Highly recommend

Being big fans of Indian food, we were delighted to find this restaurant in Stornoway. However, whilst there wasn't anything especially bad, it wasn't good either. The food was particularly bland, very unusual for Indian cooking; so much so that we definitely won't be going back. The prices were really high too. Do not recommend.

Lovely food and service. We ordered a range of different food and it was all delicious, the pakora was lovely and fresh tasting, not greasy at all and the bread was fresh and light too. Everything was done very nicely.

We popped in here upon arriving at Stornoway. Really lovely food. Prices are perhaps a little expensive but still fine on the whole.

Was served a chicken biryani last night, and the chicken used was off, rotten, discernable from the first smell of the dish. Quite how any chef could allow that to leave the kitchen I do not know.Service was fine, the waiter removed the dish without query or complaint and I was not charged for my food.I have eaten there before, but will never return.

Excellent meal - lovely staff! Service with a smile and attentive. Timing and quality of food spot on. We are regular Midlands curry eaters Hot and sweet in equal measure.

I had the Butter dish with lamb for $18.95. just a small metal plate with five small ie Ed of lamb. No rice or Nan. I had to order plain white rice for an additional $3.95. One soda was $3.95. The flavor was good but this restaurant is way overprice.

Unfortunately service was very bad, slow, not attentive. We ordered Prosecco for 3 people, they only had 2 glasses and didn?t even have a wine cooler. They also don?t serve paneer. Very overpriced.
