We popped in last night and was disappointed the fish wasn't fresh and the batter was soggy and unedible not just on the fish but also on the haggis. As we come all the way from Livingston for fish and chips this was the first time we have been disappointed have you changed management?

Fish supper was expensive and cold. I?d rather wait the 10 minutes or so to have it freshly cooked than pay for one that has been sitting out and cold

The best fish and chips for me. Huge portions for a reasonable price. Fresh fish and good chips not too oily. Great taste.

Such a clean establishment? which made me happy before I even bought anything. Had the breaded fish supper, it was fantastic. Chips fried to perfection, crunchy and light. Would defo recommend and will be back.

First time eating here and will definitely be returning food was hot and fresh, the way the ordering is done is definitely better than most chippys fast service and great team work

I haven't been to Linlithgow since last year. A visit to Golden chip is a must when I do. ....not anymore it isn't. I'm guessing it has changed owners. I was very disappointed with the fish and chips. They now use oil instead of beef dripping to fry the food. Totally against tradition. The fish was slightly gray , the batter was soggy. I loved that chippy. I won't be going back now. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'll bet the people of Linlithgow have noticed the difference?.

Positives - food served absolutely rapid.
Chips good.
Negatives - Pre cooked food been sitting in heating bit for a while, tasting a bit stale. Possibly in anticipation of a busy day/night?
Jumbo sausage appears to have become a causlty of shrinkflation and is now just 2 regular sausages. Didn't know that until i got home and opened the box. Children not particulary happy...
Staff member a bit too keen on trying to rush through orders, despite the shop being dead @5pm. Perhaps had been watching the olympics prior to her shift, who knows, but the implied efficancy meant she didnt hear me ask questions about the food and we had to restate my order a couple of times. Before i knew it I was out of the shop without any tartare, mushy peas or extras i had been thinking about.
Summary - happy to wait for fresher food and slower service so i could have enjoyed my food more.

Hard to find a parking space but got there eventually. Nice looking large chippy and clean looking. Staff seemed a bit angry but everyone has a bad day at work don't they, so I really can't mark down on that for one visit alone. Food was just ok. Chips a bit dry and fish was really thin and a bit dry as well. Service was very fast which is great.
Wouldn't use again sorry, might have been a one off who knows.
Parking: Street parking is free, however very limited.
