Pub was very cozy feel and food was excellent.
The host Callum recommended duck hash as a meal and we was pleasantly surprised, it was an excellent meal.
The ?real-Ale? selection was magnificent and drinking in the beer garden was lovely.
The only bad part was how Busy it got, staff were very busy and working hard but still made lots of time for us

We came from France and this was our second time at four Mary?s, both times very happy food was very yum and service is excellent. Our waiter is Callum and he was very friendly, had lots of knowledge and was always with a smile

It is always mystifying to find a cafe, pub, or restaurant where the staff are so clearly inconvenienced by the presence of customers. My family and I arrived in Linlithgow on a Sunday evening and thought we?d stop in to The Four Marys for an early dinner. Despite a few empty tables, we were gruffly told there was no room and wall-ins would not be accommodated. As the menu looked quite good, I stopped in the next morning and made a booking for that evening. Our waitress on Monday evening was outright hostile. Upon informing her of my daughter?s nut allergy, she gave me (not my daughter) a tablet with a consent form to complete. Five minutes later she returned to chastise me for filling out the form on my daughter?s behalf. When I dared question her on this, she immediately assumed because of my accent that I was not from the UK and condescendingly explained how things are done ?in this country?. I?ve lived in the UK for longer than that girl has been alive! While we waited for the rest of our party of 5 to arrive, we tried to order bottles of water. She then pointed to a jug of tap water in the corner where we were told we could serve ourselves. She was surprised when we walked out after only ordering a couple of drinks. The silver lining to this long story is that we found the lovely Cafebar 1807 just across the street! They were more than happy to provide cheerful, welcoming service and a superior menu.

Nice atmosphere. Service was rather slow, had to keep asking for staffs attention when we were wanting something. Food was okay i guess, did mix our order up but was quickto resolve the issue (food was nothing particularly wowing) Dessert was lovely, had the chocolate torte. Overall for price, good value for money for somethings.
Wasn't a fan that it was dog friendly as I have a fear of dogs but didn't know this. I was far away from them anyway.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, great interesting food menu, hash potatoes was a tad overdone however the waitress spotted it and got fresh made. Lovely beer.

Drinks are great, as are the bar and waiting staff. This is an ideal place for a long night catching up with friends, whether it be a single person or a sizeable group. The burgers, fries, and fish n chips are definitely go-tos for meals. The chicken is mediocre, but not particularly bad. The environment is super cozy ??
This place is also home to the single most pathetic nacho dish I have ever witnessed. It didn't make anyone's stomachs sick, but even a year later, my American friends I went with remember the nachos as one of the most soul-crushing things they've ever eaten. Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, order another dish that will make you happy.

Fantastic location, beautiful restaurant and bar area with decent beer garden. Staff were very friendly and food was absolutely incredible. Great selection of freshly cooked meals, choices for vegetarians. Great alcohol menu. Amazing value for money considering high quality.

This place came so highly rated by several people. Overall it was good, clean, but a little slow and slightly above average food. The location and atmosphere is lovely.

My friend booked us into the pub for an evening meal. Although there's a menu on line that showed a children's menu, there were none presented at the table, and the server wasn't sure if there was a children's menu and suggested we order off the main anyway. Thankfully my children weren't that fussy and as the food was generally typical pub fayre and managed to eat what was put in front of them.
O ordered the macaroni cheese, it was quite cool either had been sitting while the rest of the dishes were prepared or hadn't been warmed through enough. The sauce was quite runny for a Mac'n'Cheese. It came with a small side salad which was slathered in dressing, would have preferred it to come separately. My family enjoyed their meals and there was a good choice on the menu.
It was quite quiet, we visited on Monday evening and by 9pm the place was almost empty. Quite a lot of young couples and I got the impression the weekend would be much busier.
Our server was great, very friendly and attentive.

Great food, but the service was too slow. We had to wait more than an hour to get our orders. We were almost leaving.

It was okay, food was good. It was busy though and we waited a while for the food but we didn't complain as it was raining outside. Will come back at a quieter time.
