On our trip home we decided to stop off for dinner and we found the pub to be great. Food was good and reasonable priced. The barman was friendly and was a nice atmosphere.

We past by on a Sunday and despite this being a few miles from our route we weren?t disappointed, we met a lovely lady serving at the bar and we ordered the Aunt Janette's Homemade Steak pie with veg and chips, I forgot to take a photo due to being hungry and the smell of the food had me hypnotised and the taste was amazing, the beef in the pie just melted in your mouth along with a good selection of drinks including a non alcoholic selection, like I said off the beaten track but well worth it.

Just 5 minutes off the motorway, we popped in for lunch and received a really friendly welcome from the hosts. Deceptively big inside with a large separate dining area. The food was delicious - my daughter and I had the steak pie with vegetables and, with other potato options available, we chose toasties which came fresh and crunchy. My wife really enjoyed the lasagne with chips and a delicious salad.Great choice of well-kept beers. By chance, enjoyed a community event for local children with a climate- friendly hat making competition. Over the road is a small park with children's playground and a good area to run our small dog which had also been welcomed with the offer of a drink!
Kid-friendliness: Obviously a pub at the heart of the community with lots of youngsters there when we visited.

Visited this pub today for first time. Lovely old style pub with good food. Not overly big but very friendly. I will definitely return.

After a long 13 hour drive from the Netherlands. We crossed the scottisch border and were looking for a nice place to eat. Searching for something other than a McDonalds, we came across the colebrooke Arms. We walked inside and found the best place to end our roadtrip day. A really nice homemade dinner, with a nice dessert and a good pint. And also amazingly nice owners and their cute little dog came to say hi too! We recommend asking for their recommendations for food, as well as places to visit? And you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely awesome local with great beer and chat. Wasn't sure if non local would be welcomed, but we were welcomed and had a great time. Would highly recommend.

Oh my! The service was fantastic: very friendly and helpful. The environment cozy, with a little chimney fire and comfortable benches. And the food?!! I had the haggis pakota - unexpectedly great! The best pub lasagna ever? My sisters had the sirloin steak and the steak pie, from a local butcher, which were also superb, as well as the potato and leak soup and cakes for desert. What a little hidden gem! Thank you ??
