We stayed at the 'Days Inn' thinking the adjacent services would provide an acceptable evening meal and breakfast. Nope Evening was a choice of Burger King, Starbucks for Chopstix. As the Chopstix dishes looked like they had been sitting there for awhile, and experience has taught us that Starbucks can be expensive, without actually getting a lot, Burger King it was. It has been many years since I ventured into a Burger King. By mistake I thought the combined deal made sense. The middle part of the burger was very nice. Basically where the main part of the burger was. The edges were very much quite a bit of bread, with hopefully some of the outer part of the burger. I felt conned. The fries were a waste of time. Typical of why I have hardly gone into an American style fast food outlet. They were barely warm and tasteless. Still at least I was no longer hungry. Needless to say I shan't rush back. Then in the morning was The Good Breakfast Company. There was a £9 breakfast which looked good, with a a voucher from the hotel. But as I am no fan of bacon I opted for there smaller, traditional £8. The lay behind the till kindly exchanged the bacon for a sausage. It was lovely. I enjoyed it. It was good to see the eggs were being cooked at the front. In fact I had to go to sit and wait while it was put together. I warm to that. I was asked if I wanted toast. I assumed it came with it. So when the meal came with a coffee and a bill 0f £12.75, I was surprised. Next motorway stop I would have it again, but be carefully what each item cost. There certainly should have been an easily visible price list.

Shocking, don't know what they use but not a real cream anyway, disgusting! 3 hrs later still have this disgusting aftertaste. Last time I have ordered Americano with pouring cream, got a Late. They have no Idea how to make a coffee

Stopped here on the way back from visiting a friend in Moffat. Very busy and clearly not set up to cope with more than a few people. Starbucks had a good selection of cakes and sandwiches but service was very slow. 5 people were behind the counter to serve and clean but only 3 seemed to be doing any work. Toilets were a disgrace - unclean and an overpowering odour that was not pleasant. Would recommend skipping these services and go to another

Certainly no welcome here for caravans. The parking area was grass, lots of mud and potholes. I didn?t use any facilities as I couldn?t get out of the car due to a large muddy puddle. I suggest using the HGV parking. Come on Welcome Break and provide better caravan parking.

Quite rundown I?m afraid. The breakfast choices were limited to something out of a WHSmith or a breakfast cafe which we chose. Two breakfast baps and two coffees was a hefty £17 but the food was good and the portions were good. Staff were nice. In this services, the ladies toilets smelled terrible! Not of recent deposits but of urine, like you?d smell in an alleyway. I doubt we?ll choose this as a resting point again.

WHSmith in Welcome Break AVOID!!.. I have never had worse customer service in my life! We are staying at the hotel and was sitting talking on the benches outside. One of the staff members came out from the back of WHSmith and very rudely and aggressively started swearing and shout at us (with kids under the age of 10). Stating she was going to call the f****** police on us if we don?t shut up. This is outrageous as we were not being loud and was sitting simply talking. I politely asked for the woman?s name because I wanted to make a complaint on the way she spoke to us all, in which she replied, ?You?re not getting it, and I don?t give a s***!? She then stormed back into the store slamming the back gate in my face. I went in through the entrance and again politely asked for her name and yet she was still being extremely rude and aggressive. I explained to the woman, if she had any issues with us she could of dealt with it in a polite manner, but she did not seem to care what I had to say. I have never been so disappointed and unsatisfied with a service. This woman should not be allowed to deal with the public with the horrendous attitude problem she has. I was sworn at. I was screamed at. My kids were screamed and sworn at. I didn?t receive her name but took a photo of the woman. Disgraceful.

Stopped here on the way back from England and had to leave straight away. The smell of the toilets hits you the second you walk in the door. I don?t know how anyone can sit in and eat here

Oh dear, if there is a living death, it exists at the Abington services. Drab, cold, uninviting. Leave your sole at the door if you really are desperate, otherwise, drive on to Tebay!

We stopped here on our drive from the Lake District to Stirling. In the states, we call these Rest Stops, but I love that in the UK, this was a Welcome Break! Makes me smile! We all needed bathrooms and lunch. I ate at Chopstix, which was tasty. My husband got the fish and chips from Harry Ramsden's and we grabbed something from Starbucks as well. The spot was very clean! We even found a 20 pound note on the ground. Lucky!

Loads of parking, clean toilets and place, friendly staff, great range of services including electric parking. Starbucks was excellent, really well made and sandwich heated to perfection. Always a nice place to stop.

There is plenty of parking on site, however there are only a limited number of retailers inside these services and a hotel on site.

One of the places I always stop when going to Glasgow. Facilities are always clean and there is a good variety of food available

I was fined £100 for overstaying my 'welcome'. I, my extended family and colleagues will no longer be using Welcome Break after many years of giving them business. Stopped to stretch my legs, get fresh air. Had a coffee and cake, did some work etc. Wasn't aware of any parking charges. The parking policy is NOT clear.
