Disappointing. Several years since we had been there and had been impressed-coffee so good asked where it came from -Selkirk.Made detour to revisit today. Average coffee and scones.Table supported by folded napkin. They say you shouldn't go back.Good advice here.

Today I rang the flat Cat Gallery to book a table for lunch , it?s somewhere my husband and I go regularly for lunch . The last time we called in , we were told they weren?t doing lunches but just coffee and cakes as alterations to the kitchens were taking place . Fair enough .So , today I spoke to a lady who explained that although I wasn?t able to make a reservation for our ?lunch? she was sure that if we went along about 12.30 , ? one of her team? would try to accommodate us ? and if there were no tables available we could have a look around the gallery until one became available at ?lunch time ?Excellent idea , so off we went and travelled the 8 miles from our home address , only to be told guess what , ? We aren?t doing lunches at the moment , just coffee and cake ?Absolutely unbelievable service , I can assure you Flat Cat , that was your very last chance . It seems the cafe may have changed hands from what I?ve read recently and not for the better I?m afraid to say .Surely it would have been better to explain this over the phone , thus giving me the option to make my decision before making my journey .Poor service indeed

At 12.30 soup of the day was unavailable, so a hasty alternative was offered and was extremely poor , tiny specks of possibly frozen or dried veg with hot water. No sandwiches available, only scones and cake. Won?t be back?

Lovely wee cafe in a beautiful gallery gift shop. Nice to look, too.

I used to make a visit the highlight of a journey down A68. Alas this cafe & gallery has changed hands & is now seems to be just another cafe selling traybakes. The arts & crafts are not the same quality although I grant it takes time to build up contacts. If the new owners want to retain 'miche' custom they need to aim higher.

Nice small cafe on the high street with a gallery attached. Lack of food options and a manager overly bossing staff around which made the visit a little awkward. Scone and coffee was nice though.

Have to be honest here, have used this establishment quite a bit in the past and present found everything great. Last week was first visit under new management, and wasn't impressed, totally different from previous, different vibes/atmosphere and food not great, what there was, only coffee and cakes available, and after having coffee and walnut cake both of us were ill!Won't be back in a hurry!

We have stopped here on numerous occasions when travelling to Scotland. A cosy cafe with good food at a good price. Staff are lovely
