Recently was on holiday, staying here as a coach party.I am sorry to report that this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. The appearance from outside when we arrived- half dead hanging baskets. The initial ambiance - the place very tired and lacking atmosphere. Our room very dated with old furniture. The ensuite so small and from the 1970's. The walk in shower 2ft 6in square with curtain, no extraction fan. Part of the silicone black with mold.Food, whilst clearly done to a budget, not of quality I expected, and restricted menu choice.Staff very friendly and pleasant. Will not be returning and not recommended.Rooms: Very dated and uninviting.Food & drinks: Poor food quality and limited menu choice. Obviously to meet a budget

Some rooms are tiny, others larger. No sound insulation between them. Restaurant staff excellent, room service staff hit and miss. Had asked for a quiet room, couldn't have been noisier, what with road noise ( busy main road) and noise thru the walls. Wouldn't go here again.

Staff very helpful and welcoming, food delishious and ample portions. No entertainment, except on thurs night when the bus tour was in. Room bright and clean. Bathroom a let down, pic showed a bath, but ours had a shower, no where to put toileteries very small and no ventilation, towels felt damp because of this. Toilet door wouldn't close properly unless you banged it and no lock on door. TV in room was smaller than some tablets and kept losing signal

Close to Two Way Bus Stops, so you can nip into Largs, as well heading to the Great Beyond of Glasgow, if you didn't arrive by car. Willowbank has a very welcoming atmosphere, largely down to the staff, and management who, clearly, want to make sure all needs are anticipated. The rooms are comfortable, and adequately supplied with tea and coffee. Ironing boards provided, on request; as well as assistance with connecting to WiFi. As to the food, the hotel has a VERY good Chef who provides a wide range of menus. Well recommended.

My daughter and I came to the willow bank hotel towards the end of July really looking forward to our little holiday together with Alfa holiday company. We were so disappointed. When we arrived nobody was there to greet us and also there was no porterage so people were struggling up the stairs with their case's. Our room was very basic but clean. The 4 drawer cabinet was passed its sell by date with only two opening so we were putting clothes at the bottom of the wardrobe. Saying all that the bed was comfortable. Apparently we were lucky because some people had no hot water. The food was hit and miss. Breakfast was done on a shoe string, hardly any choice at all but the evening meals were adequate. I wondered whether Alfa travel gave the hotel a small amount of money because of meals being so limited. The staff were absolutely fabulous, so caring. The management are lucky to have them. The thing that really disappointed us was the entertainment which was rubbish, in other words virtually non existent. Two nights no entertainment, one night 2 games of bingo and on the last day we had a singer with a throat Infection. We couldn't believe it as we love to have a little sing a long and dance BUT as it was the last night people were packing ready for an early departure.. We are not moaners. We usually look for the good in everything but I'm afraid this was beyond it. It's a shame because it's hard earned money and it wasn't cheap plus I was away with my daughter and we like to make the most of it.. The manager was supposed to be getting on the bus at the end to say goodbye but he sent one of the girls on. We had to laugh though, I bet he was embarrassed. To sum it up. Bedroom's basic but clean, food iffy. Entertainment virtually non existent but staff lovely. Oh and we had a fabulous driver Dave,

Our social club took us to Willowbank this afternoon. The hotel has a nostalgic feel to it, we had a fabulous meal, with four coachloads arriving for dinner. The staff were impressively efficient, food was hot, sauces and dressings were delicious. Tables were cleared promptly to allow us to enjoy the Elvis entertainer who has been booked for the afternoon, staff were lovely and accommodating when a member of the party decided to change her dessert order halfway through. I had the best peach Melba I have ever had. Would love to visit again sometime soon.

Took a small coach party for 3 course lunch. Paul was so nice and friendly and couldn't of been any nicer to us. The residents loved him and enjoyed the banter. The bar lady was lovely too. The meals were excellent and everyone was happy. It was a great end to a good day on largs. Many thanks Sheryl

Well what can i say abso fab location friendly staff but thats about it ! Room was basic and the bathroom stunk of stale urine very outdated bathroom suite the food was disgusting so how people are saying its beautifull beggers belief they care more about other guests then their coach party guests rooms are to close together theyve obviously crammed more in for more revenue

Stayed for 4 nights and was a fantastic stay. Very warm and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. The hotel is spotlessly clean, you can tell the hotel is very well run.The food is very good, everything was cooked from scratch and they do amazing soup. Would recommend to anyone and only a short walk to largs town center or a bus stop right outside. Great stay thank you

Willowbank is a small hotel in Largs Scotland, within walking distance of the town. The food is plentiful , 3 different dishes for each course. The meat is well cooked , no bullet veg, delicious food .the whole staff are terrific the bed is comfey, hotel is spotless .Viking museum nearby recommended, only £4 for senior, ferry to Cumbtae 15 min walk, wetherspoons, ice-cream parlour this small town has everything you could want
