Slow service and pricey.

Good bar food, but expensive.Stopped off in here for some vital refreshments (beer and snacks) after our business in Larbert. Overall the quality was good, but the price left me feeling a bit short changed.Food & drinks: They advertise themselves as Scotlands premier real ale venue, but on the day we went they only had one on tap. Granted, it was very nice and flavourful but not exactly a great start.Chips were decent (not pictured), but the portion felt very small, probably less than 10 chips in total and at £4.50 felt quite overpriced.Chicken strips with jack daniels barbecue sauce were good, but £6.25 for 3 pieces of chicken...Beer battered onion rings were also tasty, £4 doesn't sound much, but the ingredients couldn't have cost more than 50pAs far as decor and service is concerned it was absolutely fine. Staff were nice, food was served promptly.

Great pub, best whisky collection within a 10 mile radius, if your train goes through Larbert you want to stop here for a quick recharge, great pints

The Station Hotel is great and has been great for many years. Real ale taps at the top end of the bar. Relaxed. Comfortable. Ideal really.

We had a meal here last night and everything was excellent. Service and food really great and the haggis bon bons for starters were brilliant I'd personally go back just to get them. Very handy when getting off the train at Larbert just before walking along to the Dobbie Hall for a show. Highly recommended here for a meal.

I would not recommend anyone dine here. We are here about 16 months ago and it was great! I don?t know what?s changed but the service was so poor that we never even got a chance to try the food which judging by other reviews has went downhill too. We were sat upstairs by ourselves with our baby and told we couldn?t sit downstairs as there was no room despite there being multiple empty tables. I think they sat us alone upstairs purely because we had a baby with us. After waiting in the silent upstairs section of the restaurant for about 15 mins our order was finally taken by some gloomy young staff members. All the staff we encountered were lacking in customer service skills and made us feel quite unwelcome - completely the opposite to our last visit. Shortly after placing our order we decided against staying any longer as the place was devoid of any atmosphere whatsoever. We paid for our drinks and packed up to leave. Upon coming downstairs there were still the empty tables that we saw when we came in, further convincing us we had been sat upstairs purely because we had a child with us. We received no goodbye from staff, just some dirty looks. The sign above the door reads ?haste ye back? - not a chance. We will never be back. Please don?t waste your money in this unwelcoming restaurant which has a depressing atmosphere and even depressing staff. There are so many better alternatives in Falkirk!

Great place for food anytime. We were heading to Stirling but thought, why bother? Haddock and steak pie were delicious and good to see halloumi back on the menu. Service was very good and the beers were excellent, always well kept and well received. We will be back soon, by train.

Had a half hour to kill for a train decided to grab a quick drink. It?s pretty quiet in the bar however I was left standing only for three people to come in get served and then serve someone in front of me yet again. Let me make this perfectly clear it was not busy there was no easy mistake this was pure ignorance they chose to walk past me. I strongly advise against this place the staff are nothing short of a disgrace

Only visited restaurant. Food is excellent and staff friendly and efficient. May have to wait a bit longer than usual for meal as items cooked fresh.
