Very disappointed. Starters were average. Prawn smoked salmon and advocado poorly presented with old mushed up advocado. The battered fish was very greasy as was the sea bass. The cucumber salad served with the bass had no or tasteless dressing. 1st visit and wouldn?t bother going again.

Very friendly staff. It?s a shame the food came in small portions.
Would be better if wasn?t less stingy and it?s very pricey.
Only reason we came here twice as there was nothing else near us.

We arrived and were impressed by the views. Don't bother going unless you are a big fan of wasps, the place was heaving with them. We asked a member of staff if we could move inside, (it was empty aside from 1 table, who asked to move inside and we're immediately moved.) no one got back to us and we were left swarming with wasps. They took our food to the incorrect table and then took my husbands burger back to the kitchen and bought it out moments later. We ended up with wasted drinks because wasps were inside the cans. Food was average, there were bugs on my daughters fruit when it was bought out. Went to pay at the till and we were ignored by 3 members of staff. Went to the other till to ask if we could pay and were redirected back to where we had been ignored. When we were asked if everything was ok when we went to pay we were told they were sorry but they were understaffed. Easy money for them because they don't have to rely on returning custom. Wouldn't bother to go again.

Cute and quaint cafe and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating backing on to the Loch. Unfortunately, our Americanos were diaapponting (burnt).
Would stop to try food on our return which looked delicious.

We had lunch here on Fathers' Day last month. The restaurant was packed with diners, and a queue had formed for those who walked in without reservations. We were seated in the inner part of the restaurant. There was a sheltered, as well as an open outdoor seating area, which was already full with diners. This award-winning restaurant displayed its many accolades on the wall at the entrance. As we walked in, we noticed a bustling ambience that reflected the popularity of the eatery, yet it wasn't so noisy that we couldn't hear ourselves talking.The uncovered tables by the riverbank would be either too cold during rainfall or too hot in direct sunlight. Though outdoor seating would be pleasant in summer, I was relieved we were seated inside as rain began pouring down before our lunch arrived.Having had a full breakfast less than an hour earlier, we opted for a light meal of two mains and two soups. I ordered the roast pork loin, while another member of my family selected the venison pasta. We shared two portions of broccoli and blue cheese soup. The food was superb?the Yorkshire pudding was among the best we've ever tasted, and I particularly appreciated the lighter gravy. The soup was excellent - creamy and wholesome. The venison pasta was superb too with tender meat and tasty sauce.
Definitely a place we will visit again, if we are back again for the NC500.

absolute must-visit! delicious food, great staff and the most wonderful view from the restaurant. highly recommend. definitely have some cake and coffee too!
