“Stayed a night and ate in the restaurant. All is newly refurbished and of an excellent standard. Our room was a little small but excellent quality and clean. Our evening meal was outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend eating here.”

“The 4 of us went here for an evening meal. Although the restaurant was shut we had our meals in the bar.The service was excellent, very quick and efficient. The food was above and beyond, and was taken from the full menu.We had a good time and will be back.”

“Visited earlier in the week with my wife and mother in law. The staff were friendly and informative about what was on the menu that day. The seafood platter sounded too good to miss. I shared the seafood platter with my wife and there was plenty of food for the both of us, fresh beautifully cooked seafood. I have eaten many a seafood platter across Scotland and the world, this may well be the best I’ve had! Worth every penny.”

“Nice place: clean comfortable and with a very pleasant Magyar owner. Good breakfast (good strong tea bags and nice poached egg). My only quibble is the unopenable Georgian window in our room -- it is a lovely building.”

“Top location. Right in the middle of the action. Great sized room and service from staff who are managing it - the kirkwall hotel next door. The room was fine but we had a very noisy neighbour above us. Banging and walking about, water flushing - we heard it all.My other suggestion would be to tidy up street frontage - The Shore appears shut down and forgotten about on the outside. Out our window in the courtyard was a blue tarp thrown over some items (???).Presentation matters.”
