An idyllic retreat, no wifi/tv poor mobile coverage lots of plants n birds galore to marvel at, cosy accommodation, very welcoming host plus hot tub n fairy lights! What's not too like, oh plenty walks/runs available from doorstep, even the cows come n say hello!

Peaceful wild garden setting, enjoying the sunshine sitting on the decking overlooking the small lake.

A hidden gem

You'd never know it was there. Tucked away The Waterhouse is a little piece of calm in a too busy, noisy world. Martin and Sharon were so welcoming and great to chat to, giving us all the help needed during our stay. The lovely hot tub was a great extra and the clothes optional a nice change. All the beauty of Martin's planting of trees and shrubs and flowers makes it a little wildlife sanctuary, the big pond, birds nesting and feeding all around you - lovely. We soon found ourselves wanting to stay there and not go out or be anywhere else. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

We enjoyed our stay at New Year, so much, that we couldnt wait to get back again. As last time our Hosts Martin and Sharon were wonderful. didnt need to explain too much to us as it wasnt that long since we visited. Once again a bottle of wine, cheese and freshly baked bread were sat there on arrival. The gardens were transformed, what a difference a few months can make. The clouds cleared and the sun shone through for us. So what else could we do? Well we were in the garden of Eden :) In the sun with fine wine and good Beer. Ive included some Photos but they cant do this garden justice. Its truly magnificent but more so that its yours alone for the week to wander in and enjoy, no disturbances other than the song of the copious variety of birds. You wouldnt, at first, Choose Scotland as a place to go for a tan but tan we certainly did as the sun was hot and the skies were blue. So there we have it, our week in the garden of Eden, pleasure at its most simple. We loved it, no it was more than love, it was passion personified. Well it was the garden of Eden so we really did have to have to eat that fruit. We`ll be back again very soon, can give no better reccomendation than that.

What a fabulous weekend we had. So peaceful and quiet. Very comfortable accommodation. Martin and Sharon were the kindest of hosts. Martin very happy to share his considerable gardening knowledge. Also amazing bird life and beautiful gardens. Great book and dvd selection. Came home feeling totally relaxed. Heather

Amazing little hideaway in a peaceful setting. Stunning gardens and amazing watching the night sky from the hot tub. The waterhouse was everything we needed for a quiet few days away from our busy lives.
