We love coming into The Bay, my partner and I regularly come in when we can and it's always a warm welcome. Lisa, Nish and the staff are fantastic. On the occasion we bring our dog in, she is always made very welcome too!

We visited the hotel bar a few times during our break in Kirkcudbright. We were always warmly welcomed by the proprietors and the other patrons. Great craic with some lovely down-to-earth people. Very reasonably priced drinks. Will definitely go back when we return to the town.Food & drinks: Good range of drinks at reasonable prices.

Great hotel, Nish and Lisa are amazing hosts, made our stay fabulous . We had a delicious meal with the family in this bar restaurant, staff friendly and helpful, facilities spotless, dogs are allowed but only in the snug, good choice of beers and wines, would definitely recommend, thanks for a lovely

Our 2nd stay here. Good basic accommodation, great Scottish breakfast, and evening meal was very good also. Small bar area, and conservatory for meals.For a basic little pub, the food is the standout here, and definitely recommend.

The first time we went here the staff were friendly and the meal was tasty... We went in again, during the week.What a let down! We had garlic mushrooms and Cullen Skink.... NO garlic in a wishy washy cream sauce. ( the same sauce (peppercorn) as what was on the steak the evening before!.. The soup again was the same sauce with halved new potatoes and a minute amount offish in). Then we had chicken breast stuffed with haggis, + wrapped in bacon. With yet MORE of the wishy washy sauce.The staffs attitude had changed as well, not friendly at all.

One of only a few places in Kirkcudbright that has a restaurant, which is sad really. The service is ok, the food is good, reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and tentative. The restaurant is at the back of the hotel, which could do with some decoration improvements. 7/10

Just been in the restaurant and it was fabulous, you will not be disappointed.I had haggis/chicken, I think it's worth every penny and more, service was great from local ladies and lovely they are. Well worth a visit.

We really loved our stay here. Staff really friendly and loved our room with the little lounge area (with fridge and kettle) in addition to bedroom. I sat with the chair in front of the window looking out which was lovely. We went for a drink in the evening downstairs which included chatting to some of the lively locals. Breakfast was great too. We would definitely stay here again and really fell in love with Kirkcudbright.

I was looking for a quiet 2 day break and that's what I got. Well looked after, with food which appealed to me as it was sourced locally and presented in an imaginative, healthy and creative way. I was offered overnight EV charging but in the end I didn't need it as there was fast EV charging in the car park at Castle Douglas.

So, a stay of two nights and we also ate here. Food: our chicken balmoral with a "creamy whiskey sauce" was actually a peppercorn sauce with too many peppercorns. The breakfast was good at the price of this B&B. The room - a family room had two double beds but each was against a slanting ceiling making it very hard for one partner to get out of the bed without climbing over the other. Granted plenty of room and no noise at all except for expected seagulls. Staff were always very friendly.
