Absolutely brilliant, booked a restaurant visit with friends, food fantastic, ambience was great, service amazing, price very reasonable, parking outside. First time ever had the chef do the rounds later on and have a chat, tremendous. Tunnocks teacake dessert superb, highly recommended. Good size portions and good range of dishes.

We stopped here as The A9 was closed and we had to stopTravelling North. We picked this Inn as it was dog friendly and I really wanted something different from Travelodge or Holiday Inn. Somewhere we could relax and enjoy. After searching this came up and it was really good value and had fantastic reviews. The service was beyond our expectations. When we arrived Paul made us some sandwiches. We arrived late so the kitchen was already closed, so it was beyond nice for him to offer as he didn?t have to he was already off . Amazing Scottish hospitality. The bed was really comfortable and the room cosy. It was lovely toCome in from a rainy journey sit in the pub have lovely Rioja and go up to our room. I think there is only 5-6 rooms so it?s really cosy. It was great value at £89 with dog and breakfast. Breakfast was great, fresh brewed coffee, lovely local sausages and the haggis was really good as it was nice and peppery. The food in the restaurants did not get to try but there was a lot of locals in there having meals so that tells me, even before I saw the photos it was really good. The location is brilliant and right near some lovely quaint towns with castles, the safari park, and I spotted 2 lovely farm shops within a couple of minutes. I would definitely go back.

We stayed last night, had booked B&B & dinner. Very old building so lots of quirky features like different shaped wooden skirting boards, our room was lovely & cosy (a bit too hot at times but preferable to it being cold!) Comfy bed with comfy pillows & lovely bed linen. We were warmly greeted & shown to our room by a female member of staff, we met Paul on arrival who is the chef & manager, very friendly & welcoming. We had a few drinks in the bar once settled in & were served by Ben, I had the gin of the month from St Andrew's then a Campsie gin, my other half had a pint of Belhaven Best then a Lost Orchard cider, lovely to see them promoting local & Scottish produce. We had 3 courses (not planned!) All food locally produced, beautifully presented & very inventive & creative dishes. I had the whisky marinated salmon which was amazing, one of those dishes you don't want to finish as it was so good, my husband had the pheasant & haggis croquette which was beautiful. I had the Perthshire chicken supreme which was delicious, the rosti was gorgeous & the vegetables cooked to perfection, the chicken was cooked beautifully in a gorgeous sauce, my husband went for the burger with cheese & bacon, triple cooked chips & onion rings. Photos of mains do not do them justice, up there with some of the nicest food I've had! After seeing the desserts going out he had tunnocks tea cake which was a chocolate fondant with marshmallow - to die for. If you're a chocolate lover you have to have this, I had the sticky toffee pudding which was the nicest sticky toffee pudding I've ever had. Paul came round the tables after the mains were served to ask if we had enjoyed our meal which we thought was a lovely touch & shows how passionate he is about their food. I had a liqueur coffee & he had a latte in the bar to finish! We both agreed we would return just for the food! All of the staff were friendly & attentive without being overbearing, special mention to Ben in particular, he's so professional but immediately makes you feel at home & nothing too much trouble for him. Breakfast this morning was freshly cooked (& delicious) by Paul & served by Ben. Will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely stay

What an amazing wee hidden gem! We went for a wee family dinner last night & were blown away by the quality of the food. We shared the tasting platter between the 4 of us to start which was full of very tasty, quality meats & cheeses. The highlight was the peasant & haggis croquet (nearly started a family war!). Then the boys had steak pie which was packed with gorgeous chunks of quality steak in a rich, tasty gravy. The boys were very reluctant to share?.. My daughter had the southern fried chicken burger which was enormous & clearly made with the highest quality chicken breast. It was juicy & with a perfectly seasoned coating. The homemade skin on chips were delicious. I had the buffalo cauliflower wings which were packed with flavour with a real kick from the sauce. I did have FOMO for the steak pie but was not disappointed by my dish. Even though we were fit to burst we managed to squeeze in a dessert each. The dessert of kings has to be The Tunnocks Teacake! We will drive over the hill just for this in the future. It was spectacular!!! ??? A wee mention for the excellent, attentive & friendly staff! So professional & made the whole meal relaxed & special. The chef came out of the kitchen to ask how we enjoyed the meal, really nice touch. ? We couldn?t recommend this restaurant highly enough & we will definitely be back soon.

We went for lunch and really enjoyed it - a lovely pub and a friendly welcome. Both had the haddock which was huge and served with chunky handmade fries, homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas and was all really good. It?s obvious the chef cares about his food and we will definitely return.

Great hotel. A cosy room that was ideal for our needs. Both our evening meal and breakfast were great and really friendly staff. Will visit again in the summer when we can make use of the Beer Garden. Highly recommend.
