Dropped off a Virago for some work over three months ago. Duncan F Mackinnon ? owner and ?bike mechanic? - decided to dinghy the work and disappear to France for that duration without notifying anyone, taking any calls or responding to messages. Straight to voicemail.Three months of what was an amazing summer without the bike - locked up in his garage.Finally got a hold of Duncan at his house next door on a chance visit few weeks ago. Apologises profusely, says he?s been away, his phone is acting up, that it?ll be fixed in a week. He then disappears again ? without communication of his actions. His phone, like the motorbike, are obviously low priorities to get fixed. Checked in with the working mechanic who said he knows Duncan has took a look at the bike because he was asking for a second opinion on a part. Bike was left stripped. He then adds he doesn?t have a clue where he?s disappeared to this time or when he?ll be back. This mechanic very kindly offered to look it over, despite admitting limited knowledge on motorcycle maintenance, and rebuilt it for us so it could be transferred to another garage.Just over three Summer months and there has been zero progress on the bike at all ? all down to the shocking level of communication, arrogance and incompetence from the resident ?bike mechanic? and garage owner Duncan F Mackinnon.
