I can't believe its taken us so long to have dinner here! The food, service and atmosphere was great. An additional bonus was that they are dog friendly. Sadly no IPAs on tap. Nevertheless, we'll be back.

1st time here for a meal with my wife, very warm welcome, attentive smiley waitress & delicious food, generous portions of battered chicken fillet & chips with BBQ sauce & a battered haddock with chips & peas.
Will definitely be back.
Very clean establishment.

Came here for supper and found that it was a nice small place, we ordered chicken fillets, when it came there were only 3 chicken fillets, a basket of chips and a small salad, lettuce and a pickle radish or something. When asked about the slaw we were told it was asian slaw, the menu didn't say asian slaw with the fillets. Thought the portion was a bit small like a child's portion. After we were finished there was a family came in next to us and they ordered fillets, the portion was larger and there was a propr salad. Had to ask for the dessert menu, was never offered it from staff, the sticky toffee was OK, not the best. It was like there wasn't consistency with any of the portions. Not the worst food, just needs a little work in my opinion, will not be rushing back.

Enjoyed our family time here in the restaurant nice a cosy atmosphere. We all had the festive menu. The food is excellent. Very good portions all fresh home cooked food. Would be good if they had a pensioners portion as the festive turkey dinner is a large portion too much for my elderly parent. But can't wait to go back

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent 2 night stay at the Square. Firstly, I had a very warm welcome from the manager at check in. My room was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Loved the comfy armchair and sofa. Lots of practical things too such as good hanging space, a stand for your luggage, a fan, full length mirror etc. All this at such a reasonable price. Will hope to stay there again when I'm next in the area. Also enjoyed a delicious meal there one evening.

Updated review: still a decent pub, good location, but the food is shabby and overpriced. If you try to make a complaint, the owners an arse and doesn't take criticism well at all. Go for the drink, leave for the food.
