The most insolent and clearly unbothered reception staff I have come across.

The patients of Kinross and its environs are incredibly fortunate to have access to such a great health centre. Times are difficult within the NHS and the health centre has obviously been affected by this. Our family's experience has, however, been overwhelmingly positive. Orwell Medical Practice has a small team of caring, knowledgeable, professional, and supportive GPs. Appointments are generally easy to secure and GPs offer patients their time and advice proactively and compassionately.Reception has always been efficient albeit busy at times. AskMyGP has made things much easier in so many ways. Most support staff have also been professional and empathetic. There are always going to be issues and "bad apples" but this should not detract from what is an example of excellent patient care in the face of enormous challenge.

Was ok pre pandemic when you could book online. Currently, you need to listen to a lengthy message about how busy they are and then it can take a good half hour to get as far as speaking to reception. And then that is the point you are blocked and cant get any further.I seriously dont know how all these 5 star reviewers are managing to get near a doctor. Everyone i speak to is the same. None of us have had any luck getting near a gp since 2019.The sooner they re instate online bookings, the better.I'm updating my review to say the surgery is even worse. You can only book one week ahead. And there are no appointments!!! Was happy to wait and book into the future but no can do as system doesnt allow it. Cannot even get results of tests done. Had letter to say book appt but cannot get appt. Test results could have easily been noted in letter. Crazy.A further update to my review: Dr Jones is brilliant! Finally we have found a gp that actually sees patients, gets things moving AND you can get an appt with?Updating again with latest saga. I personally still have not managed to see a gp since 2019. Currently on waiting list to see dr balfour. He sent letter saying he wants to see me after i submitted high bp readings. But i cant get appt. I have suggested to the practice that a nurse will prob suffice short term but this has been ignored. So i still wait.My daughter, who had been seeing the brilliant Dr Jones can no longer get appt with Dr jones. She ended up in hospital at the weekend after failing to secure any GP appt. On a positive note, she now has the medication she needs.I fail to understand why you cannot book ahead. Me, for eg, im happy to just book the next appt dr balfour has - even if that is into july, august (it is may now. I can wait but their system does not allow it)Also, they have as many gps there now as they did pre pandemic so how did they manage before but not now?In a further update: omg the inefficiency is wasting so much time! Was prescribed medication by a gp at the urgent care centre a couple of months ago for ongoing use. Put in for a repeat and they wont issue it without my having a gp appt!!! What for? Just so i can verbally ask for it? What a waste of everyone's time.

The Doctors are really good but the people answering the phones at times are really rude and even puts the phone down in your ear as they like. This is the last thing needed when you are phoning for help as you are ill. Left me in tears a few times. It is not our fault they are overwhelmed with calls.

Honestly to say I?m disappointed is an understatement, Long story short waited 2 days on a doctor calling and guess what ? I?m still waiting. Think they have gone that long without seeing patients that they don?t want to now. * update - Still never received the call must be almost a year now. I have changed my doctors.

The worst GP surgery I've ever experienced. Referrals don't get submitted, letters "disappear", prescriptions don't get sent and when they do they're wrong. I don't expect GPs to know about every medical condition but it's on them to either learn or refer to someone who does. Saying "see how things go and if no improvement in a couple months, call again" when in crippling pain is not acceptable.

The most unprofessional, unhelpful, negligent GP surgery I have ever encountered. Since Covid outbreak reception stuff feels enough medically qualified to decide if you actually need an appointment with rather judgemental comments being made. Never received help that is expected or needed. If I could give 0 stars I would

Care is ok, not great but ok. A lot better run than it was when the incompetent / igronant previous manager Jane Macnaughton was there but that wouldn't be difficult. Must have fired their maintenance person as the building looks very run down now, plants are all now dead in the waiting room. Some (not all) staff very snippy, rude and up a bit themselves, god knows why. Needs to do better.

I can't thank Drs McCracken and Osborne for their sterling work, especially in these times with Covid. Thank goodness for doctors like them and our wonderful NHS!

Shocking practice, I registered in Dec 2019 having a long term health condition. I tried to see a doctor for an initial consultation but was fobbed off with an assistant that couldn't even give me an urgently needed prescription. Fast forward 18 months, I've still not seen a doctor face to face and have just been told that I have to wait 4 weeks for a telephone appointment to get results of a chest xray done 3 weeks ago.

So impressed by the prompt and efficient attention from the staff after my husband received a hand injury this morning. Thank you to nurses Lynne and Mandy and the lady on reception. We are relatively newcomers to Scotland and we are fortunate to have such an excellent Health Centre here in Kinross.
