Our visit was lovely, and we may well return, but the menu was a little restricted.

Brought my family here for a Birthday lunch. We were lucky to have a sea view table. The views were stunning. Food was good but lacking in some areas. For the price, I would have expected a little more. Service was great and would certainly return.

Went for lunch twice whilst in holiday at Homelands. Staff friendly and very welcoming, food delicious and plates plentiful. Would have been good to have had a lighter lunch menu option. All in all would definitely

The staff and the views in the lounge were lovely. A warm, crackling faux fire place made it cosy. However, the food was a real disappointment. I had chicken, rice and veg soup but it was lacking in flavour like it had no stock or herbs/seasoning in it. The waiter was happy to exchange it. I then ordered the prawn Marie sandwich which wasn't much better, I ate it because I was hungry. Any sandwich made with cheap margarine leaves a synthetic taste. The side salad had no seasoning, a watery dressing, again lacking in flavour. My mother in law had the fruit scone, which last week she said was lovely, but today was not good.We did feedback these comments to the staff who were sympathetic and apologetic, but sorry to say we won't be back.

We got married in the old manor on Oct 14th, Fiona and her team did a magical job in making sure it went to plan, Not one thing was out of place and every guest we had said it was a lovley and beautiful settling. If I was going to get married again(not planning too), I would get married there again. The views you will get are something self over looking the golf courses and the forth.

Had a 3 night stay and we had a great time. Our sea view room was lovely, had a newly renovated bathroom and had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast and dinner was really good and we couldn?t find fault. Bar area nice with sea views. The lady on reception was very helpful as we had a problem with our car, and found us a local garage to sort out the problem. All in all a super mini break at a lovely hotel.

Under new owners. Been a great hotel in the past. Bit rundown. Needing big refurbishment.

Tried calling to book a table for dinner and phone rang out; went on to their Facebook page and there was a link to book a table so did that - had not had confirmation a few hours before due to go so called and was advised, sorry but they only took dinner bookings for residents. I stated that wasn?t great so why have the facility to book a table offering availability and not monitoring the bookings, stated I would leave feedback to that effect and the receptionist just hung up. We had 2 large family events there last year which were really good but extremely disappointed at their current idea of customer care. Also no facility to leave reviews on Facebook AND the booking facility still live.

The ground-floor room was warm, well decorated and, with a walk-in shower, ideal for someone who is partially disabled. The food was plentiful and excellent quality although if staying more than a couple of days, more variation in the menu would have been good. The staff were all efficient and helpful and, above all, very friendly.

There was a great choice of main meal, and included toast, pots of tea or coffee and cakes and scones with jam and cream. Food was freshly cooked, and very good quality. Staff so friendly and helpful. Our first visit and will return if in the area again,

It was my sons birthday and I was treating the family to lunch. My son ordered a rib eye steak, medium rare. He had to send it back as it was very well done and instead chose something else as the quality of the meat was shocking to say the least. We were all shocked at the standard of the steak when it arrived. If that was a rib eye steak then it was the worst rib eye steak we had ever seen. Rib eye steaks are usually quick thick, the one my son was given was actually almost flat and was less than a centimetre in width. We were expecting a nice piece of meat. The steak my son got resembled a piece of frying steak that you put in a sandwich. Terrible really given the price they charge and that it was described as rib eye on the menu. I have eaten many steaks in my lifetime and that has to be the worst I have ever seen served up in a restaurant. In addition the mash potato that was served with my meal and my sons meal when he chose the steak pie instead of having another steak was so dry it was almost flaky. It didn't taste like fresh mash potato either but something out of a packet mixed with water. Awful. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, there were 2 other tables in addition to ours with patrons. I ordered artisan bread for our table. It didn't arrive until we were half way through eating our starters and even then I had to remind the waitress that it had been ordered. I ordered a coke and had to wait 15 minutes before it arrived, again reminding the waitress. Not as if they were busy. I am very disappointed in the standards of this restaurant. I have eaten in lots of establishments and this has to be one of the worst meals that I can remember for a very long time. I used to bring my mother on either a Saturday or Sunday for lunch until she was no longer able to go out due to ill health. We always enjoyed it so I thought it would be nice to take my son and his family for his birthday. Standards appear to have dropped dramatically since. I was not charged for the steak and sauce, thankfully. What was supposed to be a nice family day out for an enjoyable lunch ended in massive disappointment.

We stayed for one night as a family of 3 and were allocated room 6, which was a sea view room with a balcony. The views and setting from this hotel are absolutely beautiful. Our room was spacious and the decor was lovely but unfortunately very tired. The wallpaper is peeling away above the bed in a number of places, chairs by the balcony door were noticeably missing some decorative studs and one of the chairs on the balcony was not in a useable condition at all. The area around the chairs by the balcony had clearly not been hoovered from the previous occupants - there were crumbs all over one of the seats and on the floor. The bathroom was lovely and spotless and I have to say the bed was very comfortable and we did have a great nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. At dinner, most of the staff seemed young and inexperienced. Not particularly welcoming and we also discovered at check out that some charges were allocated to our room that were not ours. Starters we had were lovely and my partner enjoyed his main which was scampi. I chose the carbonara and did not enjoy it at all. - bland, overcooked pasta and it honestly looked like it had been chucked into the bowl. Breakfast was an altogether different experience. The food was plentiful and delicious with a great choice. The girl who checked us our rectified the charges for us also. Nothing that overly ruined our experience at this hotel but I can't help thinking it's such a shame as it could all be so much better!
