AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID we recently stayed here for the last night of our stay in scotland we arrived to be given a small annex room right next to the bar/wedding venue so very noisy ,had a nice meal then settled to room bathroom was very small was very dirty pubic hairs and mould in shower ,finally managed to get to sleep to be woken at 4.45am by a dog barking loudly in next room,we left room at 750am to put cases in car before breakfast to be approached by another dog not on a lead growling and barking at us ,my wife was petrified as the owner laughed and said hes just saying hello ,went to reception to book out and the staff didnt seem interested at all ,we left straight away without breakfast ,still waiting for management to contact us ,totally spoilt what was a lovely holiday in scotland (we are dog owners ourselves by the way !!!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Kilconquhar Castle Estate and it was absolutely magical. The estate itself is breathtakingly beautiful, providing a truly enchanting backdrop for our special day.
However, what truly set our experience apart was the exceptional service we received from Valentina. From the initial planning stages to the day itself, Valentina was incredibly helpful, supportive, and professional. She went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfectly executed and that we felt relaxed and stress-free throughout the entire process.
Valentina's kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made a significant impact on our wedding day. She is a true asset to the Kilconquhar Castle Estate team and we cannot recommend her highly enough.
Thank you, Valentina, for helping to make our wedding day a dream come true!

Made a booking in error, cancelled less than 48 after with 4 weeks notice to be told they would be keeping the entire amount which had to be paid upfront. Quick enough to take the full amount but no leeway if you give what I would consider a fair amount of notice to cancel. Not really reasonable, don't mind 10-15% but 100%, really!

Just returned from a winter warmer break the newly refurbished rooms were amazing, and the cleanliness 5 star I was a bit dubious as no hallway walking straight into the room, and initially thought the room might be cold but def the opposite. Reception staff were very welcoming and informative, and restuarant staff in the bistro def 5 star very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and a varied choice, we also enjoyed using the varied sports facilities equipment could do with upgrades! The only downside In my opinion would be a lounge area to relax in !!

Rooms: Firstly, let me say that the room we stayed in was lovely. However, there are a couple of things that could be done that would make a small but significant difference, in my opinion.1) A small fridge would be nice. I am a diabetic insulin user, and keeping my meds chilled is a good idea. I don't know what the hotel would have done to help out as I didn't ask, but a fridge in each room would be a good idea I think.2) Our room was below ground, and the only window in the room faced out onto a popular walkway. A net curtain would make for a more private experience.3) Coasters in the room. I felt bad about putting hot mugs directly onto my nightstand. Paper coasters would have stopped the need for me to find alternatives.4) Tooth mugs in the bathroom.5) Hot chocolate as part of the in room drinks selection. Although praise should be given for having decaf coffee.6) You have to leave the building to get to the restaurant for breakfast. No problem with that at all. However, an umbrella in the room or a few in a stand by the exit door would be a nice touch7) A chest of drawers in the room. There was a total of two drawers. One in each of the night stands. And other than a shelf in each of the storage cupboards, there was nowhere convenient for folded clothes. The room is big enough, and it wouldn't hurt the aesthetic.8) Consideration should be given to the heating in the bathroom. The fan heater and the extractor fan are both at ceiling level. When you turn the light on, the extractor starts up. This draws all the warm air from the heater straight across the ceiling and out of the room. Also, the towel rail is too close to the basin, and I burned my elbow 3 times when brushing my teeth. On the positive sides. The room is huge, the bed is very comfortable, the shower is good. The room was clean and well laid out.
