Really delicious food, lots of vegan and gluten free options.
Cakes are creative and flavourful, with even vegan croissants!
Staff were attentive and helpful, a memorable lunch for sure.
Wish we lived closer, prices were reasonable and I would definitely come back!

Café U is the place to go in Kelso for incredibly good, tasty food and fabulous coffees. The staff are wonderful, extremely helpful and friendly. It's a very busy café so I highly recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment. I can guarantee it's worth the wait for a table. It's also a safe space for anyone on the spectrum if they need a moment to gather themselves as the staff are very understanding, it's not too bright, and though it can be a little loud with people talking, there are a few quiet corners.

A great place to come in for a coffee, or a good lunch!
Just off the centre of Kelso, a wonderful cafe/lunchroom to visit. They are very aware of using ethical ingredients, have a low-waste policy and even have a little refill store!
Good and friendly staff team, lovely atmosphere!

Just stopped off after Kelso parkrun for brunch. Very welcoming place. Great staff. Great service. Lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing. Fluffy pancakes had my 10 year old son say thank you at least 5 times! My daughter is coeliac and she had the best gluten free bacon sandwich roll photo of half of it (they also had gluten free banana pancakes on offer). Even my scramble eggs cooked to perfection. And I even loved the crockery! Full recommend.

The food here is so good, generous portions, reasonable price, very colourful mix of ingredients and many vegan and vegetarian options. You can also get Matcha latte here! Helpful staff and nice clean toilets and baby changing facilities. Also child friendly with a corner for children to play in and a book shelf.

Went for my birthday lunch and wasn't disappointed. Lovely cafe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and well presented. We expected a wait as it was so busy but we were served swiftly. It was good to see so many vegan options too. Would highly recommend and will be back when we are next in the area.

We arrived in Kelso from Berwick Upon Tweed later than expected, we entered the CafeU @ 3.45pm.
They were closing at 4pm however we was told we could still order & wouldn't be Turfed out at 4pm ??.
We ordered coffee ? & Cake.
Wow Wow Wow. I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding mmmmm.
All staff were great and had a good chat with a lady who turned out to be the owner (didn't get her name).
Very nice café, well recommend it to anyone & we will be back. This was our 2nd visit since last March 2024.
Returned again 17.4.25, John st couldn't resist The Sticky Toffee Pudding again with Lashings of Cream.

Cafe U is a gem of a place. It offers a warm welcome and a fantastic food suitable for a number of dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free).
I had African stew and my partner had banana blossom curry. Both were full of flavour and made from fresh ingredients.
The menu also included soups, salads, quiches, and slices of sour dough pizza.
The coffee was lovely and they made an excellent flat white.
I had a pain au choc that was delicious. It had some kind of sweet filling and was topped with nuts.
Other baked goods included cheese cakes, tray bakes, scones and sourdough loafs.
Service was friendly and efficient.
I will definitely visit again when I?m next in the area.

I came for lunch today with friends and will definitely be back soon
The lunches were all absolutely perfect. The side salad was amazing and the humous was so lovely. Best cafe visited for vegetarian options also.
We then had a sweet treat which were delicious. The yogurt flapjack was so good.
Everyone who came to our table were polite and friendly. The cafe itself had such a lovely, warm, friendly atmosphere.
An absolutely perfect lunch and cant wait to visit again.
