Were there in 2022. The food was terrific and the service was extremely funny and friendly. The furnishings are very stylish. The cocktails were excellent. Gladly again!

I call this place Flopigarry. We stayed at this hotel in July and we were utterly disappointed. The views were stunning, but the hotel and food were disgusting. The hotel is old and very dirty and the food was laced with oil and not good. The only saving grace were the poor overworked staff. They were kind and went overboard to help out. It?s too bad they were running around so much and were clearly overworked. Don?t let the pictures and good reviews fool you. I have never written a bad review, so trust me, don?t stay here because you will hate it.

My stay at Flodigarry was been excellent. What made the experience was the amazing location / view, the elegance of the place but most importantly the team working at the hotel. Everybody was very kind, helpful, ready to make you feel home. I felt very well and treated with lots of care. Jo, James, Leon, Peter and Peter were amazing! ?

We had a light-bulb moment & dropped in on them (a hotel) at tea time, on a Sunday when nearly all coffee/ food outlets are closed on Skye.We seemed to be the only customers at that moment, but they welcomed us warmly, not making us feel intruders. The kind server steered us toward sharing 1 scone as ?they are quite large?. The giant scone was as warm, crumbly delicious as it was large- size of a softball (??)We would have stayed for dinner as the seafood on their restaurant menu was very enticing, but, alas, not even my most glutinous self could wait over 2 hours for a dinner on spec..The view out to sea is simply beautiful in this quieter part of Skye.

Very very expensive for a tiny room, smaller than a camping pod. TV no signal, Wi-Fi didn't work. No breakfast included in high price either. When spoke to Manager, they were dismissive and unhelpful.

Stunning views, and the staff members were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We needed to be up early to start our hikes, so they kindly packed us breakfast and lunch for the trail. Highly recommend for a relaxing get away!

Terribly disappointing stay.We were initially excited about the prospect of spending a few nights at this hotel, but unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded after our arrival.Firstly, the hotel's location is undeniably amazing, and the property itself has a charming appeal. Some of the staff members were friendly, with special mention to Jacob, who was exceptionally welcoming and professional. However, the overall experience left much to be desired. The quality of service we received was far from what was promised on the website. Frankly, it was shocking and quite disappointing given the price we paid. We stayed in the garden room, where we noticed spider webs throughout the space. To make matters worse, our room went uncleaned for three days until we requested it, and we had to ask multiple times for additional toilet paper. A few lights weren't working. The terrace and the suroundings of our room could have been cleaner. There were only two coat hangers available in the room, and when we requested more, we were provided with random ones.It was evident that there was a lack of management oversight, leaving the staff to scramble and do their best under challenging circumstances. We also noticed several discrepancies between the website's promises and the reality we experienced. For instance:The description of the garden room promised a private terrace with a beautiful view of the estate and gardens. In reality, the room overlooked the hotel's storage area, offices, the parking lot, at the back of the thin forest. The website advertised "magical food and sexy cocktails," but we found the menu overpriced, and zero cocktail menu. We were hoping for homemade cocktails but when asked the bartender told us to expect for the usual ones.As for the claim of providing "a one-of-a-kind service that will never be standard," it's safe to say that this promise was not met.Overall, the hotel's website is riddled with broken promises and misleading information. Such a charming location and property deserve better management and service.Whoever is in charge should be ashamed.

We stayed at the Flodigarry for two nights during our trip to Skye. We couldn?t have dreamt of a more idyllic location with stunning views of the ocean and whimsical lodging. We had on room in the McDonald Cottage and one flagship room. Beds were very comfortable and rooms had amenities like tea, coffee, bottled waters, and yummy shortbread. We heard tawny owls each night. We saw the super blue moon rise above the ocean on our first night. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were delicious and we appreciated taking a break from having to drive to dinner. The porridge and pastries for breakfast are a must! All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Jacob, James, Jenny. It is remote but you can?t ask for a better view of ocean sunrises and is a nice respite if you don?t prefer the hubbub of crowded towns like Portree. If we ever return to Skye, we would absolutely stay here again.

A truly memorable experience for all the right reasons. Peter in the restaurant looked after us really well. He told us he was visiting from Bulgaria and he was loving his time in Skye. Why wouldn?t you if this was your home? He?s a true asset to the hotel as are all the staff who looked after us throughout our stay. The food was all local, beautifully cooked and delicious. The chef really knows his stuff. The suite we had was out of this world. Definitely the best that Skye has to offer. We will be back with bells on next year. Keep up the good work.Rooms: The best Skye has to offer I?m sure of it.Food & drinks: Delicious

I wanted to like this hotel. The location is truly exceptional, but you get the feeling it is what the owners want to use to justify the pricing. I am sure some of the rooms are spacious (at a higher price) - our 'heritage' twin room however was absurdly over-priced at £340. There was barely enough room to walk around the single beds, the bathroom had nowhere to put anything and the shower so small I could only just get in it. All the decor was in need of a good deep clean.Dinner in the restaurant cost the 2 of us £250 incl a £42 bottle of wine. The food was nice, service was pleasant but inexperienced but simply not up to a level to support the claim or price of 'fine dining'. We cancelled our second night's table and found local fish and chips in Portree before returning to the hotel. The whole experience was disappointing - it could be so much more but I guess the owners will continue as they are if people keep paying. Shame!Rooms: Over-priced by a considerable margin. Our £340 twin room was pokey, the bathroom small and the shower was daftly small as a result. The whole place needs an update. There are better value hotels on Skye for sure.Food & drinks: Food was nice but £56 for a main course is just plain daft.Bar was well stocked, but £8 for the cheapest whisky is also daft.Who are they trying to kid?

Stay away from this hotel?it?s a total scam! Overpriced with poor upkeep. It deserves so much better. The owners and management should be ashamed. The only good thing is the overworked staff and amazing view. It could be the best hotel in Skye if it was fixed up and taken care of.Rooms: Dirty and musty?tired. So needs a new vision and upgrade.

RoomLocation amazing, the historical room was nice to experience. But there are few spider webs in the corner, which should be cleaned.Dinner/restaurantQuality is very uneven, for some dishes it is extremely bad, the chef should apologise for the location and view they have. There is a starter which included ONE piece of asparagus, the chef cut it in to half, plus 3 small pieces of tomato (£1.6 for 6 in Morrison) charge me £18? other 2 starters: scallops (3 scallops in) and Venison priced around £21 is acceptable. One beef main course is simply disaster. They stated ?High quality Isle of Skye beef 30 days aged?, but they choose the rump to demonstrate the ?quality?, okay, but it?s extremely dry and unseasoned. I literally told the waitress I can cook a Tesco steak with the induction in my flat and it will still be better than this.ServiceThere are good service quality. The girl at the reception who showed us the way to our room was nice and responsible. However, during dinner I asked one waiter: ?do you have a drink menu? Can I have it pls?? One guy told me ?no we don?t, all drinks we have are on the bar shelf, you can go there have a look and decide what you want to drink?? normally I will accept this attitude if I am at Greggs but a £450+ per night hotel? Are you kidding?Food & drinks: Quality is very uneven, for some dishes it is extremely bad, the chef should apologise for the location and view they have. This hotel is a real jewel. Our room was quiet and the bed/linen were very comfortable. We very much appreciated the kindness and the thoughtfulness of the staff. We were greeted by Jacob who also takes care of the bar. The poor chap took our 55lbs suitcase to our room with a smile while making conversation with us. Our waiter at the restaurant was Peter, a well-travelled and nice young man who made sure we enjoyed our dinner experience. We left because we had to but we wish so much we could have extended our stay.Rooms: See my notes.

AWFUL & DISAPPOINTINGStayed at this hotel for 3 nights in the garden lodge with my partner, we were so excited based on the reviews and their website.Upon arrival, there was no one in the front desk, this was a recurring event, so a lot of times, you are just standing there for a while until someone passes by and they can help you.No one helped us with our bags. The room was not cleaned any of the days we were there. After the second day, we came back from hiking and our room had not been cleaned at all, so we asked reception to clean our room tomorrow and the next day when we came back the only thing they had done was make the bed. No fresh towels, they did not empty the garbage cans, no refill in toilet paper or water, absolutely nothing. The service also felt very chaotic like no one had a definite role there which made the service very frustrating. The only person who was truly helpful was Jacob, he was very friendly and always helpful when we needed him.My partner and I were extremely disappointed in this hotel because this is a very expensive hotel and on their website they praise their "Flodigarry signature service."I would never ever return here nor to their restaurant. The restaurant has exorbitant prices and the food was at best average. The view is great but not worth it at all!!!I wish we would have stayed anywhere else in Isle of Skye, complete waste of money!
