Great easy spot to pop in for drinks and snacks. Open till 10pm in Port Ellen. Friendly staff every time I been inside.

We had the takeaway fish and chips , the batter was undercooked and inedible, this seems to be a reoccurring problem reading other recent reviews , come on guys get the basics right .

A little gem in the middle of small town Port Ellen on Islay. We were there for two nights in a row. All we had - pasta, pizza and risotto- tasted great. The risotto with scallops were fantastic! Friendly atmosphere and great staff!

This restaurant was great. We had take away and dine in during our visit to Islay. The food was quite delicious and unexpected. We had a variety of their menu and loved it all.

Quite a relaxed atmosphere with lovely food and very friendly service. I?m only marking this at 4 because my first choice meal had sold out; at 7.30pm! It would be a 5 otherwise.

We came here for lunch and got a take away of fish and chips, while eating my fish there was a long thin mental wire in the middle of it, the fish itself was really greasy and the batter was soggy and thick so had not been cooked long enough. Not on the cheap side either!

This little restaurant is a gem in this sleepy little town of Port Ellen. Local Seafood was so fresh and tasty and Whisky was just fabulous. Super ??

It is a lovely wee place certainly not cheap. Food good and portions big but the choice was limited as so many options were sold out. So if you go I'd advise to go to the earlier sitting as not much seafood choice for later one.

Great oysters, seafood and desert. Modern decor, very clean. Make sure and book ahead - they fill up fast.

We had takeaway fish/scampi and chips at lunch time on a weekday. The service was friendly and reasonably quick and the food was very good. There are plenty of pleasant places nearby to sit and eat overlooking the bay.

Great food at a reasonable price with a very friendly owner and waitress. Thought the food was as good or better than the Machrie Hotel

This is such a gem; you must book for either of the two settings. The oysters, scallops and fish dishes were beautiful. Non fish eaters are catered for as well. The wines, beers and whiskies were well chosen and the service was excellent- just sorry I couldn?t manage a dessert

My wife and I had booked one evening but ended up visiting the restaurant on three occasions. The food was excellent. I had the scallops on two occasions and the piazza at midday. The staff were also excellent. The manager on the evening we hadn't booked was very accommodating. The other staff were all very polite and efficient. Special mention to Hayley who looked after us the most. If we return to Islay we will be sure to return to Sea Salt

Tried to book a few times and it was always fully booked. Managed to get a table one evening and understand why it was full all the time. Great food, four of us had dinner, each a different dish and each dish fantastic. Staff were welcoming and delightful. Highly recommend, and book ahead it?s worth it!

Very poor takeaway. Ordered chicken pakoras - they didn?t appear. What did wasn?t worth it. Frozen french fries and a tiny piece of fish. Do not recommend. Much better places on Islay to eat.
