Probably the best tour, with probably the best whiskey!

Rebecca led our group through a comprehensive look at one of the finest whiskies on earth, and every step of the process was exhibited to get the best view of how this spirit gets to the bottle. The production floor is state of the art, and the expertise with how they design new expressions is stunning. If you're fortunate the tour will end on the back pier, with a stunning view of Port Ellen harbor.

We went to Ardbeg for a casual visit and ended up doing a full distillery tour. Ron, our tour guide, was great and extremely knowledgeable & passionate. He really made the experience thoroughly fun & enjoyable for us. The distillery walkthrough also included some sample tastings during the tour which was a good plus. Ardbeg is situated right at the coast and offers breathtaking view of the sea. We even tried some hot chowder soup at the in-house restaurant and it was simply the best.Do also checkout the store for some good souvenirs and some nice whisky.Overall, thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

We were there in July and we still talk about Tom. He has earned legendary status and his story has been told across Wisconsin to the Southeast United States. He will forever be known as Iron Hands Tom in our hearts. We loved our time and even my pup is enjoying her souvenir. ??

Popped in for coffees today & we all loved the quirky, groovy distillery. We were ages taking photographs before we even sat down in the cafe. Everybody was very friendly and amicable, especially the lady in the gift shop. Hope we can get back before our holiday ends ????

What a disappointment - Ardbeg is one of my favourite drinks and so a visit to their distillery was greatly anticipated. We visited 3 other distilleries on Islay, and all 3 were great experiences. Ardbeg, however, was completely shut down ... absolutely zero activity with the sole exception of showing visitors around the empty facility .... for a price, of course. A young girl with a sling bag over her shoulder containing with a few bottles of their whisky, walked us around the distillery, pointing out what we might have seen had the distillery been operational. She stopped every now and then, delved into her sling bag, and gave each of her visitors a dram of another whisky .... All of which were outstanding, as I'd expected. Could I suggest that when you close down the distillery at the end of each year, you close down the tours as well.

I loved this distillery. They were so nice and accommodating especially when it came to making a non milk drink for my wife and daughter due to allergies. They didn't ask but when above and beyond. Loved the flavors of the whiskey they had here and ending up with a nice one you can't get in the states. Really cool place.

Unfortunately, opening times do not match. We stood in front of a closed door at 3:20 p.m. on a Saturday.

Another great Islay whisky experience. The warehouse tour is well worth the investment of time. Allows you to go straight to tasting and ?deconstructing? the components of a single malt scotch. Highly recommend for those know the basics and want to dig in on the finer points of whisky making with the guide. Ardbeg?s guides are engaging, knowledgeable, and accessible.

Ardbeg is in a beautiful location. You can also sit outside. There are snacks and drinks. The shop is clear but pretty. People like coming here. Whiskey prices are no longer so pleasant.

Not sure what?s going on at Ardbeg. Had a great time here in 2016 but something has changed. No welcome dram and not a welcome of any sort. A busy cafe and an unmanned bar tucked away in the corner of the souvenir shop. Id have asked if I could have seen anyone interested in customer service. A big disappointment at the end of a nice walk from Port Ellen. We spent our time and money elsewhere?
