Make sure to visit the visitor center ? their friendly and helpful staff go above and beyond. Explore the island's history through captivating photos and videos, set amidst beautiful gardens. The cinema is excellent and I believe the only one run by Visit Scotland.

One of the most helpful and friendly Tourist Information centres we have ever been in. Zareya was super helpful and friendly, she really did give us lots of great information on bus time tables and local buildings. All the staff were out from behind the counter talking to customers and giving there dogs treats etc it?s so nice to see people being helpful and not hiding behind the counter. So refreshing in this day and age. First class service and great knowledge. We will be buying a book tomorrow and look forward to returning in the future.

Denise helped us make our visit perfect! We?re traveling with kids, and Denise went out of her way to find the combination of beaches and outdoor activities - and a visit to Mount Stuart - that would make the stay enjoyable to all family members. She also helped us with visits to other islands. The shop has a good selection of Scottish delicacies. We ended up having a really nice weekend at Bute! So far it has been the best part of our summer vacation. We agreed that it was just as good as our favorite island in the Caribbean - only the temperatures were better in Scotland ?

Visited this place last week more to get out of the cold than anything but was won over by the charm of the staff and the building and also the informative films and reading material on view. As someone who has read Para Handy over and over again for forty years, it was great to see the exhibit on the puffers and how the combination of railway and David MacBrayne brought the city folk to the islands and the islanders to the city. Contrary to a previous review, I found the two girls on duty most informative and friendly. The building seems to be a relic from fairground days and it is great that it has found a new and useful purpose.
