Wonderful pub food in this cute out of the way location. The service was excellent and the food amazing. They have a new menu every week can't wait to go back for the fresh venison dishes

It had been a while since we last visited and we enjoyed great drinks, food and service yet again.
A couple of visits during our short break to the island and really enjoyed the real ale alongside good food. Can?t wait to return.

Excellent fresh cooked food at really reasonable prices, fantastic service and so helpful when we had a flat tyre this morning.

Such a super spot, we visit every time we come to the island. Food is consistently very good - particularly the specials. High quality, cooked very well and service is always kind and efficient. Fantastic place.

We always eat here when we make the trip up to Bute and it never disappoints. The staff are lovely and they offer a great menu of starters mains and homemade Desserts plus a daily specials board. Highly recommend

This was a nice enough pub, we popped in one evening on a bikepacking trip and then the next morning after camping near by. We asked if the kitchen was open when we arrived at 5.30pm and they said it would be at 6pm and gave us a menu. We stuck around and bought a few pints and then went to order at 6.10pm and were told they would only cater for people with bookings as they had a wedding party in. I appreciate it was busy and can understand them not having capacity at a time like that, but we wouldn?t have stuck around and spent £25 on drinks waiting for the kitchen to open had they told us that from the outset. The staff member we dealt with was reluctant to even ask the kitchen if we could have a side of garlic bread to take away.
The staff in the morning were much more friendly and helpful.
Relatively local beers on tap were a bonus though. We settled for a few bags of crisps and a chocolate bar.

Absolutely outstanding visit from the food to service. Definitely a must when visiting the bottom of the island.
First of all the portion sizes are generous so value for money is guaranteed. The roast venison was a hit with my partner as was the sweet potato pakora and home made hummus with myself. The dessert sharing platter was amazing!

We called in it was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. In fact, we have visited twice in 3 days. The beer is great, the food is fantastic as is the service with a shout out to the barman!!!

So good we visited twice whilst on holiday.
Friendly and welcoming staff, relaxed atmosphere. Menu choice (and specials board) that has something for everyone.
Haggis BonBons in peppercorn sauce OUTSTANDING. Look forward to coming back on out next holiday.
