Lovely spot with a great view. I visited on a damp wet day but there was nothing dreary about the service.Vegetarian options: Only one option and it was out of stock.

Beautiful sunny day to walk along the beach and then sit down for a most delicious bowl of seafood chowder. Absolutely lovely. We went back next morning for a full Scottish breakfast and another walk on the beach. Great fried eggs. Delicious cappuccino. Lovely staff.

This is not the kind of place you stumble on but it's definitely the kind of place you remember.Located at the end of the road, with it's own bus terminal and a beach no less, it's not an oil painting to look at but like every book cover, you won't know what's inside till you open it up.Friendly, quaint and very popular.Really good mixture of food choice but it's the food itself that stands out. Local produce abounds. I've tried to think of a negative but I'd have to be really picky to put this place down.We visited in November, God knows how popular if will be in warmer months. We visited because, on a map it was a cafe at the beach, we came back a fortnight later just because we could.Edinburgh to Bute for a cuppa.

We loved this place but I'm giving a mixed review on the food.. The soup was great but the cheese toastie was dire. I'm not sure how you can not make a good toasties I've made and eaten lots with different types of cheese including the singles cheese slices, but never had a toastie so flavourless ?.The milk with the tea was a very generous amount, and the lemon meringue cheesecake looked amazing but sadly only saw it on my way out! (next time!)But the real charm about this place is it's 1970s coffee shop feel.. And menu, and the VIEW!MY advice would be to reduce the menu options and just do less things very well.

I love this place, looking out over beautiful Ettrick Bay towards Arran. You can't beat the location! The food is great,no-nonsense, no-frills and I love that tea comes in a mug and coffee choice is either instant or bean (Costa and Starbucks's choice completely overwhelms me). The team who work there are lovely. It's dog friendly too. The building could probably do with a bit of TLC but it's part of what it is and why we have such fondness for it

Ettrick bay is quite a popular spot especially on a weekend so the cafe was quite busy. We only stopped for ice cream (delicious), which are served separately from the main cafe, so we can't comment on the
