Excellent food and excellent, friendly service! We had a lovely meal here. The meat was cooked to perfection, and served with tasty veg, and the desserts were delicious. Bring your own bottle. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful meal! The slow cooked lamb (locally sourced) was truly fantastic and the best meal we had during our whole stay in Arran. We were allowed to dine outside with our dog beside us and on a lovely evening, with the incredible views and friendly service, nothing could be finer.

What a stunning family restaurant with a bring your own bottle policy. Being located at one of the more rural parts of the island shouldn't put you off visiting. Being right on the seaside makes it one of the best for views. The menu changes every few weeks and they use mostly local ingredients. Get yourself over for some great food that you can tell is made with love and care.

Been coming to this family owned restaurant for almost 25 years on our annual trips to beautiful Arran. Had a lovely welcome as always. Food is always fresh, tasty and good value with lots of regular choices and some specials too. Can't wait to return next year. We really do not understand the 3 negative reviews which were all written very close together.

With so many good reviews and only the couple of recent poor ones we thought, incorrectly, we?d be OK? Well below average unfortunately for the price. Barely cooked peas, anaemic cheap fries and poor batter on the fish. Thought we?d played it safe with fish and chips?. Left quickly and very unsatisfied. :-(

Poor quality food. Presentation amateurish. Expensive for what was presented to us. The fact that our hot meal was delivered to the table within a few minutes speaks volumes. We will never return for an evening meal.

We have been to the lighthouse several times over the years, It has got progressively worse. From reasonable to truly diabolical. The site is wonderful but the food it's amateurish at best. I usually judge food by asking myself if i could have done better. If I had produced the food we were served on our last visit i would have had to apologise to my partner from pure shame. We will not be returning until the business changes hands.

This is a lovely family friendly restaurant on the sea shore on the less touristy west side of Arran. The range of delicious but more adventurous menu choices was impressive ( venison steak, stuffed pheasant breast) but also great classics super fresh battered haddock and chips. A very budget friendly kids menu available too (£9 for two courses) and I noticed several families with little ones. It's great home style cooking but delicious local produce .haggis nuggets we're superb! And as if it couldn't get any better it's BYOB on the alcohol which saves a bit if you're on a budget. The manager was really welcoming and friendly, very understanding of our son who is very particular about his food. You MUST book in advance though for evening sit down in summer it seems. Definitely worth a try especially if you've done Brodick and want a change!!! We had an excellent experience.

Beautifully cooked food and lovely service. Vegetarian option very limited (one choice) and expensive.

Staff was all friendly and very welcoming on arrival at this restaurant. The service was very good. The food was lovely, me and my wife enjoyed the food very much. You have to take your own alcohol as they don't serve it. This was nice as we could take as much alcohol as you wish. The dessert was out of this world we shared one as we were getting full from our main meal. The views on the sea were nice as we had the window table seeing out onto the sea. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Ideal place to stop for a bite to eat or a meal. The food and service was fantastic from start to finish. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating options, on our visit inside the restaurant there were two couples and outside there were cyclists and people with dogs.We were accommodated on this occasion when we stopped as we had no prior planning on this location. On arrival we noticed the reserved plaque on tables, so if you are planning to pass this fab restaurant and want to make sure there is a table available you can book ahead.Salmon & mashed potatoes & peas and steak sandwich with fries & pepper sauce were beautifully prepared and reasonably priced. Well worth stopping by! ?Parking: New bridge built so traffic lights and fencing at this location (July 23) so limited parking beside the refuge bins (4 to 5 cars) roadside parking is possible.

Called here for lunch and had a lovely baked potato with salad. The salad dressing was delicious and the chef's own recipe we were told. The evening menu looked excellent with lots of local produce on offer.Had a delicious lemon tart for desert. Very friendly lady served us. Don't be put off by the road works on the bridge as there is parking in between the two sets of traffic lights and we managed to park a 7.1m motorhome there.Parking: There are road works here at present and parking is in between the two sets of traffic lights.

This wonderful restaurant is the best eating place in Arran, bar none. There is an extensive range of wonderfully prepared, cooked and served food, using lkcal ingredients, all freshly delivered. The owner and staff are lovely folk, friendly and attentive to all. The prices are remarkably good, especially in this day and age, more so on an island. No profiteering either on alcohol as it's BYOB. We plan to holiday again on Arran soon and will definitely book in again at this top eatery. By the way, they serve adult-sized portions on the kids' menu at kids' menu prices - try the sticky toffee pudding - if you have room after the main course!!! Wonderful place to visit. From the Millan and Tait families. Thank you so much.
