Great location for the golf course directly at the coast with beautiful scenery! The course itself is quite tough for beginners/ medium level but great for a quick quiet break in any weather, since there are only 12 holes. It was very easy to book the tee time online and no issue at all to rent a golf bag with all necessary clubs. The club house is simple and nice, and the food was also simple and good. The staff was very friendly despite a hectic lunch time.

Played Shiskine yesterday in perfect conditions. Truely the most unusual course of ScotlandShiskine is a great place to spend some time. The course itself has 12 holes and is a seaside links course with wonderful views. Always in great condition, the greens staff take great pride in the course and work very hard to maintain it to a very high standard. We were founded in 1896 and have many ?blind? holes with names such as the ?Crows Nest? and the ?Himalayas?.

Just played this beautiful course and loved it. We have been to Scotland many times and golfed all over; the Highlands, the East and West coast as well as Orkney and Fife. This is our first trip to Arran and this 12 hole gem is a must visit destination. The atmosphere is welcoming and the views are breathtaking. You must visit!

Stumbled across this for a lunch stop. Hard to choose from the great menu. Everything was yummy. Beautiful waterfront view was the icing on the cake.

Beautiful course. But extremely expensive for what you get. I paid £27 for a full round of 12 holes, which is on average a little bit pricey. So for that price you expect a course in pristine condition but the course is in a very poor condition. The worst conditions I have played in for a long time. It had 3 temporary "greens", which is normally fine but these were nothing like greens, just like putting on a bad fairway. The greens that were available were painfully slow. And the layout was extremely strange. I think it had 8 par 3s and most of them you can't even see the flag you have to play blind shots which for a par 3 is ridiculous. No signage indicating where the next hole is and course guide was also very expensive.Extremely disappointing. Beautiful views but I will never play again and never recommend to anyone.

This is a must play, and if you can, join a member, as local knowledge is key ? it may seems short, but beware, blazing away will cost you at times. This course is rated as one of the most visually stunning courses in the world, so don't try to conquer it on your 1st visit, just absorb it and enjoy, because there is no better way to play golf. ?Thanks to Ronnie and Linda for showing me the way around, with your kind words of advice, and great company, the course exceeded my expectations and should be on everyone's bucket list. Although it's 12 holes, they have laid out tees for 13-18 if you can't get enough of the core 12.???????. If I had had enough time, I would've gone round again.BTW, not sure what happened to the previous reviewer, but I suspect they may have tried to overpower the course, of course the greens were slow, it autumn in the northern hemisphere and the west coast of Scotland, come back next year in July and see if you can hold a putt ???
