Store itself is a reasonable size with a bit of everything but that's where the good bits end.
The manager is rude and obnoxious, we returned a tent due to it being faulty and leaking when it rained. He basically called me a liar and told me it was condensation! No surprise he did his wee test and then phoned me to tell me that of course he was right and I was wrong. As a manager myself of a team of 15+ I am well aware how you should and shouldn't speak to customers, somebody needs to give this guy some training on such matters! This is not my first tent or first camping trip, I know the difference especially when the items in my living area of the tent were being rained on as we sat there!! I offered to show him photos we had taken of the RAIN coming in our tent but he wasn't interested! We really like GoOutdoors as a store but this has definitely left a source taste!!

I occasionally get parcels from other suppliers delivered to this store because it is a UPS access point. But, whenever I go to collect items the staff are really unfriendly, can?t find the parcels, accuse (and I use that word carefully!) me of having had the parcel delivered to the other Go Outdoors store in town and are generally unprofessional. Unless you really need to use this store, I would avoid!

We popped into Go Outdoors Inverness on a mission: find my son some boots that wouldn?t turn his feet into blistered balloons, and a sleeping bag that wouldn?t leave him shivering like a penguin on holiday. Enter Michael ? the unsung hero of the outdoor retail world.
Not only did he listen patiently to our very specific list of requirements (apparently my son?s feet are shaped like rare potatoes), but he went above and beyond, hunting down the perfect pair of boots like a man on a quest for the Holy Grail. Then, as if that wasn?t enough, he guided us through sleeping bag options with the wisdom of a mountain sherpa and the enthusiasm of a man who?s clearly slept in all of them himself.
By the end, my son had boots that fit perfectly, a sleeping bag worthy of Arctic expeditions, and I was half expecting Michael to pack our rucksacks and wave us off at the trailhead. If Go Outdoors gave out medals, Michael would need a bigger shelf.
Highly recommend this store ? and if you can, ask for Michael. He?ll make sure you leave ready for adventure? or at the very least, ready to survive your next camping trip without frostbite or soggy socks.

So shocked to see such a large store! It has everything from bags to bikes. All your hiking needs can be met here. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other outdoor stores. Seems to have lots of different sizes which is good.

Absolutely shocking, non existing customer care! Approached a member of staff for advice on a bike. He advised us to go back and wait at the bike and he would come over. 5 mins later we had enough when he didn't appear. We passed him on the way out standing in the same spot on his phone texting! @gooutdoors you just lost a sale and we won't be back!

This is the worst store I've ever visited. Never find what you are looking for. Website says in stock, yet never on the shop floor.if you can find more than one solitary helper to look then congratulations! Nevermind if you want to pay, then join the slowest moving queue at the solitary till that's open. Once you join that queue be sure that the person at the front of it has queries and questions because they couldn't find anyone to help them so nothing is moving. Then if you are next the person in front is having a friendly old chat with the cashier too and asking about long lost family members, dogs and what they had for breakfast so you are no closer to paying and leaving.
When I reach the pearly gates I will regret the amount of time that was wasted here trying to simply buy an item.

Was looking for some trousers. Why is it that, when you're just browsing, sales assistants are virtually stalking you, asking you every 5 minutes if they can help, but the minute you actually need help, it's impossible to find a sales assistant?

On visiting this store last week I had the pleasure of being attended to by Finlay then Siobhan. Their patience, friendliness and professionalism was evident from the get go. A double act for sure with bags of personality! :)
After trying on an amount of hiking shoes that just didn?t quite fit then finally I liked the Miendl ones. The downfall? Small made so didn?t have the next size up. Right away Siobhan very kindly called ahead to the Inverness High Street store and they had the last 61/2! Yass! I got to that store within the hour, tried them on and bingo, they fitted! Thank you also to the nice lass who served me at that store too. Didn?t get her name but she had long dark hair and again, a very friendly and professional assistant! I?ve always had great customer service but this stood out! Thank you!

I have to advise that after your poor service by unhelpful and I'll informed staff I had my questions fully answered by quality staff by one of your more experienced competitors in Inverness.
Yes it cost me 5% more but I have confidence in the product I bought.
