Cex (pronounced sex) is great. As a guy with many needs that can be satisfied with Cex, I'm a regular visitor. As a player of many video games from consoles and platforms of all ages and ranges, this place is class. Some of the prices are a little marked up. I remember during the pandemic the mark up of PS5 consoles. I think to myself how much this contributed to inflation to the cost of living... But then I go and buy Brian Lara Cricket for PS2 for 50p and then there is balance in the force again. If you need a place to go whilst your partner intends on wasting 3 hours in Primark buying fast fashion, then go here and enjoy a little cex-y time.

We visited this store in search of the final season of an important TV series for me. Unfortunately, we couldn't find it on the shelves, but I came across a PS2 game that piqued my interest, so I took it to the counter to assess the quality of the establishment. I received immediate assistance, and I engaged in a conversation with the salesperson about video games, which were evidently their area of expertise and passion. The salesperson was clearly well-versed in the gaming industry and had a strong understanding of the market. They also provided us with information about warranties and return policies, given that we are not from the UK. Additionally, the salesperson recommended checking out the Edinburgh store, where I might find the DVD box set I was looking for.Pros:Knowledgeable serviceExcellent selectionClean in-store ambianceCompetitive pricingWarranty information

Helpful staff in store.I've been trying to use the 'Drop and Go' section on the website, but it just freezes. Not great, so will need to bring in more items individually.

50/50 it's good because it's cheap but you get what you pay for. Games are ridiculously over priced and usually only a few £ cheaper than buying them new when it comes to trending titles

Awful place. Loud heavy metal music blaring out of speakers, unable to hear and speak to staff. Rude and incompetent staff who don't understand how basic electrical items work etc. I tried to explain how the charger connected to a smart watch, only to be told it doesn't connect, that's because it's a magnetic fitment, of course it's not a solid connection. The staff member kept picking up the watch, shaking it and making the charger fall off. Then said it won't stay on. I tried to explain that when the watch is on charge you place it down and don't move it till it's charged. Only for the staff member to shake it again saying it doesn't stay connected. I think the research and development Casio put into the watch and charger overrides some clueless staff member. Overall a terrible place, much better to use the online option. I sent everything online and I got payment no problem. The business it's self is good, Inverness staff are just lacking training and customer service skills

***Please note this is for CeX online but will only show against my local branch unfortunately***Having spent £1500 in the last week with this company I have so far received an iPad that will not power up and has no power adapter etc to try and charge it (these were advertised as included) they since sent out the wrong power adapter and lead (not checked the product requirements at all) another item I bought is looking to be less grade c (showing signs of wear) as potentially unusable, but again I cannot test this until they sent out a charger to try and power everything up! The only semi good thin I can say it the product was well packaged initially.Shame on you CeX, to ALL customers I would recommend buying in store and do not accept postage as they do not check the item(s) matches description before shipping which is a basic principle for any sale!

Find that some of the prices, given that its all pre-owned , are pretty steep. Staff are super friendly though and knowledgeable.
