We had a burger and the steak pie. The steak pie was delicious with home cooked chunky chips and vegetables. The burger was awful. It seemed to be a frozen cheap burger. The kitchen closes at 7pm so don't go if you want to eat later than this.

Visited for lunch with my family (5 adults and 4 kids) and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food was delicious, great selection. I highly recommend some of the smaller plates. Would definitely visit again if we come back to the area.

Staff/service was wonderful. Dropped in and they made space for us despite upcoming bookings (make sure to book ahead!). Food and drink were great. Lots of options, decent portions and well tasty. Had some good music playing and a telly with sports on it.

Love love love The Royal. One of my favourite places to eat. The beyond meat burger is delicious and the halloumi fries are soooooo good! 100% would recommend and I do all the time, ha.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here when we were staying close by on a little holiday. The food was delicious! And it's such a cosy, welcoming little restaurant with great staff. If you are staying close by then you should go here. I think booking is recommended.

Staff are great, food is brilliant and so is and service. I cannot fault The Royal at all. I have used the Royal for a christening, many birthday meals and also for causal lunches/dinners and look forward to going again.
It has a great bar with a very good selection of drinks available.

THEEEE BEST PUB FOOD I'VE EVER HAD!!!!
Just left this wonderful wee gem of a place, super friendly warm staff, wonderful delicious food. My wife and I shared starters of onion rings and halloumi fries, obviously freshly made, the onion rings were exceptionally good as crispy outside and moist inside, halloumi fries were delicious also. I then had the mac cheese which is the best I've ever tried from a pub, the wife had the vegetarian beyond burger again that was exceptional.
If you're in the area do NOT hesitate to pay this establishment a visit! CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH.

Visited this evening and had a takeaway of the haloumi salad wrap and the southern fried chicken wrap. Both came with fries, and I also had a portion of the onion rings. Meals also came with a can of drink each. Food was served in individual containers and wrapped in foil to keep it warm. The food itself was amazing in both taste and quality. I'm not planning on moving much now as I am absolutely stuffed. The boss and his staff are very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

A great place to eat with fine selection of food. A place I visit regularly with friends and family. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the service excellent.
The regular Thursday evening tradit1onal music sessions have grown in popularity and are an added attraction to an already popular venue.
