We had a trip around Scotland and Castle Hotel was easily my favourite place to stay. The staff were fantastic. Unbelievably helpful and friendly. We ended up getting extra tips for our stay. We also had the pleasure of dining here one night and it was delicious. Would happily stay here again.

Had a lovely stay, We stayed 6 nights great food every day, very friendly staff felt very welcome. We stayed in the period when Covid restrictions meant we could only have alcohol in our room but this was no problem and the staff even labelled the Whisky's for us.

Food was good, no hot water for a bath or shower, very sma. Towel rail didn't work which left no heating in the bathroom. Room heating was via a free standing electric heater. Rooms need updating.Staff are very helpful and go out of their to help you.

Thanks so much to staff at this hotel for their first class effort to open the hotel after 5 months closed due to covid and provide free shelter and even a beer to those stranded in Huntly due to drifting snow and impossible driving conditions.Friendly, helpful and going out of their way to help a group of stranded strangers .

The hotel seemed very quiet on arrival, the room was interesting, a very large dining/sitting area with a dining table set for 10 and a separate bedroom with 4 poster bed .It was freezing not pre heated and the radiators weren't on, there were two small plug in heaters for the two rooms. The one in the bedroom stunk of paraffin? I think, so we had to change it for the other one and close the door between the rooms, the bedroom soon warmed up but the living room where the only TV was was useless too cold to sit in. Dinner was served in the bar with the few other guests and was well cooked and tasty but felt like you were having a bar meal. Sadly due to Covid the full benefits of the hotel weren't used pre dinner drinks etc. They did temp checks on arrival with plenty of Covid procedure inc. cutlery in sealed plastic bags.

What a lovely find. The food was delicious and served in perfect timescales. (We wanted desserts so asked for a gap between courses) polite and friendly waitress and the owner is an absolute gem, really made us laugh with his tales. Lovely surroundings. What else can I say apart from, when we can, we need to support these lovely places to keep them going in these different times. A big 5 stars from us. Thank you.

Food was delicious but was (only slightly) disappointed by lack of info available regarding breakfast times, breakfast menu, checkout etc. Bar closed at 10pm and place was plunged into darkness. No signage obvious to state this. Went down from the room to get a drink at just back of 10:00pm and everywhere was pitch black and was obvious that was our night away over. Had there been a warning, we would have taken 2 drinks when we went to the room after dinner but there wasn?t. Wasn?t looking for bottles of whiskey, wine or any such, just a glass of gin and a single dram. So that was our night away was over at 10pm. A little disappointing. But, this didn?t take away from the truly beautiful place, lovely kind and accommodating staff and stunning place. Would still absolutely recommend and enjoyed stay. Just wish our night didn?t have to end so early. (I?d like to stress we?re not big drinkers, just when you?re away, it?s nice to have a drink or 2, or at least the option. We had 3 drinks total and went down to bar to get last just after 10pm, but couldn?t, only complaint on that was the no info from staff that this was case, and no signage to inform us either. I understand opening the hotel in these unprecedented times means making a lot of changes, and we know you did all you could to protect guest safety etc and there simply may be a reason why you had to close or couldn?t put up a sign, this is just me wondering why?) PS - we visited on their very first night open since lockdown. Lovely people. Very likely simple reason for no warning re bar. DO VISIT. This place is truly beautiful with stunning grounds and the nicest, most accommodating staff with the loveliest food I?ve ever tasted.

This is one of our favourite hotels in Scotland. Had a fabulous night here. Grounds are stunning! Like a stately home!Great open fire when you walk in. Traditional decor throughout. Might not appeal to those who want something more modern, but we loved it.We had superb view from our bedroom right down the wonderful gardens.Dinner and breakfast superb!Wonderful friendly staff.Fantastic bar with large superb selection of Fine Scottish Whisky ?.Will definitely stay here again.
