This place is a wee gem. So friendly with fresh food and amazing cakes. We enjoyed lunch outside in the sun and returned later for tea and cake after a walk. Definitely one to return to.

Gorgeous little café tucked away. I ordered a mocha (which was delicious) and they have a nice wee gift shop too with unique items.
It?s dog friendly but only in the outside seating area. There?s plenty of parking available.

This was our second visit, what a wonderful find. The food is of another level, so good and so much choice. The staff are fantastic and couldn?t be more helpful

This place is definitely worth a stop. Fast, friendly service and lovely food. Lots of daily specials, tried the fresh crab sandwich which was the special and it was perfect. Got some coffee cake to go which was also very well made and delicious. The staff are all very friendly and attentive

Absolutely amazing! What a great spot.... Fab gifts for sale... Menu, so good.... Cakes galore! The team looking after you really know what they are doing. We live 40 minutes drive away & will be returning regularly!! Toilets lovely & clean. Passed by so many times, we won't be doing that mistake again!!

LOVELY PLACE AND GOOD FOOD
We arrived just before the kitchen closed! But we were welcomed and refreshed (thank you). And thank goodness, because it was a very good lunch :-)
The ambience is very quaint and tasteful, with lots of nice (and NOT trivial) items for sale.
The outdoor area is just as nice, with lots of benches, and a large car park. Surrounding it all, are MAGNIFICENT TREES!
In short, a fabulous location, and also a strategic stopover between John o'Groats and Ullapool ;-)

Sadly the most unwelcoming place we have been in Scotland.. felt like they did not want to serve us. We arrived on our motorcycles having ridden in the rain and needed a break. We are both Canadians/retired banking professionals and wanted a break from the weather. Upon entering there was no friendly welcome and the staff member said we could only have a table for thirty minutes.. we waited at least 10 minutes to have our order taken. Sadly a very poor customer experience. I did not have anything to eat but my wife said her scone was quite good.. so it appears their food is good.. the good news for me about today?s experience is that when I teach entrepreneurship students about how deliver a positive customer experience I now have an specific example of how not to do it. Management should remember .. ?customers will not remember what your staff specifically did today but they will always remember how your staff made them feel?..

We were invited in as long as we could clear the table within 30 minutes, but it took almost 15 minutes for our order to be taken and served (two coffees and a scone). Everyone else that came in was greeted and offered seating somewhere, although the apparent owner/manager should brush up on her people skills. The couple next to us was informed their table was only available for an hour, but their order was taken within a minute of sitting down and their soup and hot beverages were served within a couple of minutes along with an apology for it taking so long. We were going to buy some baked goods to take with us, but decided that we would rather spend our money someplace where we felt welcome. The scone was delicious and if we weren?t cold and wet in need of a hot beverage and some warmth, we likely would not have stayed to find out. They have several picnic tables out front (which we happily would have sat at if wasn?t raining), and take reservations (recommended based on our experience). They also have two 4-tops that could easily be separated into four 2-tops to deal with the crush of people that arrive without reservations, but that didn?t seem to be in the cards today. We are Canadians travelling through Scotland on motorcycles and have received warm hospitality everywhere we?ve been until now. If you aren?t fussy about consistent service (two out of three were excellent), the food looked good and all of the positive ratings lead me to believe she either didn?t want wet motorcyclists in her establishment or was having a bad day.

Stopped in here on my way round the NC500 for lunch. It's a lovely place to stop with great food. The staff are warm and welcoming. Specials were great - local crab sandwich for me, and it was delicious.

My sister and I called here on the way back from Orkney. What a fabulous find ! Quirky, atmospheric and an absolute goldmine for gifts. The food was excellent, good portion sizes and very tasty, we can recommend the Super Bowl Salmon and Bruschetta with hummus and grilled veg. The staff couldn't do enough for us, many thanks to them. A must go again treat ...

Simply incredible! So good that I had to have a second dessert after the first. By far the best cafe in this part of Scotland!
