Been an Asda shopper for 44 years. I started shopping in the Blantyre store in 1981. Hamilton opened and I've been there ever since, that was until today. What a shambles!!! Shelves half empty with empty boxes lying everywhere. No staff in attendance except for kids trying their best to fulfill online orders from severely depleted stock. The whole store just seemed poor and shabby. I bought my usual shampoo and contitioner that was on a 'Roll Back' from £7 each to £4.64 each only to find when i got home and checked my receipt, they had charged £14 for both.
The two brothers who bought this company have.....NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
Sorry Adsa but i'll be shopping elswhere from now on.
What a shame.

It's very good apart from the disabled parking, lots of disabled spaces but unfortunately not monitored and other cars regularly park in the disabled spaces and don't have/or display a blue badge. Seems no obvious deterrent on this abuse which is unfortunately very common now. Puts me off going and I've been using Morrisons car park recently. Don't expect things to improve though hence the wan star ?

Tried to return an Amazon parcel to Hamilton Store. Sign stated that printer was not working and store could not accept returns. I visited the customer service desk and was advised that printer had been out of use for 2 weeks and that unsure when this would be repaired. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I was advised to go to Asda Blantyre to send my return. I did go to Asda Blantyre and was assisted by a very helpful team member who quickly accepted my return using a role of barcodes and an scanner app. All manual no printer required.!!! Great job Asda Blantyre. !! Can't Asda Hamilton do the same???

Great shop. However, if you go early in the morning, prepare to get almost run over in every aisle with the delivery team all rushing around the shop picking orders.

What more can this store do to put people OFF shopping there? You used to be able to enter the store via the cafe and go through to the clothing/electrical department and down the escalator (handy for those who live in Hamilton and do their shopping on foot). I often bought clothing and printer ink upstairs before doing my grocery shopping. Now the entry to that department is blocked from the upper level but you can still use the cafe stairway or lift if you fancy walking the length of the store to find a basket or trolley. So now I go in via the main doors. Here you find you aren't a customer but an object of suspicion. You are shepherded into the furthest away door, forced into a one-way system where you can't exit the way you entered. I was told by a staff member this was introduced for security reasons. Ah, well. On to the shopping.... you were once able to find most items you need. Not any more. Usually I have to finish my shopping list elsewhere. Paying for your items is also a chore. Queue up at the self service or wait in line for one of the precious few (one or two at most) human check-out assistants who seem hand-picked from the slowest, least motivated and least customer focused staff available in the country. On exiting, you better hope you don't need to visit the Custome Services desk or the place adjacent where you can top up your electricity/gas pre-pay cards. For this adventure you have to go out the main door, go back in the other main door, stand in line for usually around 20 minutes, then be reminded you can't just walk back out...no, no... You have to walk all the way up the store, walk through the crowded self-service check out with your shopping, while congratulating yourself that you remembered to pick up your receipts as you walk past the vigilant check out security guard. A shopping trip that used to take 30-40 minutes now requires at least 60-90 minutes when you add on the time walking the extra distance to and from the main doors and all the palaver of the one way security system. Worth the hassle? I would have to say an emphatic NO. It's actually quicker for me to top up my electricity card en route at Semichem, walk down past Asda and across the road to Aldi (where I'm treated as a customer), get ALL my shopping and save a few bob in the process.

The worst breakfast I have ever had! The bacon tasted rancid and dry, I guess cooked a few days before. A chain saw was needed to cut through the square sausage, there was honestly nothing on the plate that could rank higher than 1 star. We may as well have thrown our money in the bin because that's where 95% of that breakfast went.
