This is a fine location for a German inspired lunch. As soon as you step inside it's like being transported to an antique shop and cafe on the continent, quite unlike other places in Haddington. The quality of the service and food match the cosy surroundings and some different choices sets it apart from other cafes. For a bit more indulgence there is a good range of authentic cakes and pastries baked on the premises by the master baker.

I was confronted with a ham and cheese roll when I ordered a ham & cheese croissant! The waitress curtly said you're getting a ham & cheese roll because we're out of croissants! Not if you please or is there something else you'd like instead of the croissant! My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and when the waiter brought a cheese sandwich she virtually had to have a debate with him about what she had actually ordered - eventually he reluctantly went back to the kitchen! We had to laugh - I know some places charge for bad service /being rude to customers - is this your normal practice?

As always the food was excellent and always freshly made with cakes being the stars of the visit. Always great service with friendly and attentive staff.

Sorry Tripadvisor has this listed under the desserts section. The food they serve is out of this world, not just fabulous cakes. Therefore, FALKO deserves a listing under meals to justify all their offerings. We stopped in on the way home from Berwick upon Tweed on the recommendation of friends. We weren?t disappointed. Everything was perfect - the food, the service, the choice of teas and coffee, the staff, the antiques. I bought two of their fresh baked breads on the way out. My first visit to Haddington but won?t be my last.

Superb place, lovely decor, had a wonderfully rich luxury hot chocolate with all the works, proper temperature, and the superb young lad behind the till who sorted it out for me deserves a weighty payrise. Defintely will be back.

Lovely Cafe with excellent food and cake ? Been many times over the years we have traveled to Scotland. And we will return soon. German cake at it's very best!

Really impressed by Falko. We popped in from Edinburgh and thought the food was excellent and good value. The decor was quirky and interesting and made the experience even better. There is no better place to have lunch in Haddington,

Been a few times in recent weeks. Outstanding bakes. Coffee is always on point. Not cheap but well worth the visit. Keep it up.

Lovely quirky venue. Staff were very good and the choice of cake pretty broad. Mine was very fresh and gave the impression of being recently made on the premises. I'd go back.

Well, the place is great. Nicely decorated and a convivial atmosphere. When I arrived, just before 10am, there was a queue of about 8 people ahead of me so I knew this place had to be pretty good. Understandably, service was a little slow. I asked for a large flat white coffee and a scone. The waiter muttered something about 4 shots and I said fine, not quite understanding why he would tell me that. On the menu, I believe, a large coffee was £3.30 but, I was charged £5.60 (two flat whites) which was really over the top. Since I was in a hurry to get somewhere I didn't complain but, just be careful of this when you order a large coffee.

Excellent food. Very efficient service. Met and exceeded our expectations. We came from a fair distance and only get to visit very occasionally but absolutely love the cakes.

Had dined before with Falko in Edinburgh and had takeaway cakes from Haddington before. The food at lunchtime is wholesome and so fresh. The cakes and gateaux are different level and such great quality. Really good service and highly recommended, you may need to wait for a table which is well worth it.

Falko makes superb pastries as well as other delights and serves up great coffee. The strudel with cream I find particularly irresistible. It can get very busy so best to book.
