Nice enough pub but I do not like the waitress table service, I can find my own table and I prefer to go to the bar and see what beers are on offer. Been here many times but it has been spoilt by the waitress service. I observed that customers were pounced on when coming through the door.

Second time I?ve been here over 2 years or so. First time, I was made to feel posh (am fae Lothian)and steak way overdone. Didn?t leave tip. Second time, they forgot request for no relish and served an unwashed salad. When constructive feedback was offered we were argued with and made to feel like we weren?t entitled to an opinion. Serving staff very friendly but proprietary attitude frankly combative. Location great, love this part of the world.

Great meal on a Saturday afternoon after a beach trip.
All 4 different meals between us were excellent, special mention to the pork curry as part of the around the world in 80 curry?s, it had great heat and flavour.

We went in there for lunch -- and left without eating because of the rudeness and inefficiency of the staff. They were wandering around cleaning tables while we were waiting to order -- for 20 minutes. When we asked them about it they said there were others in front of us. ( Why couldn't the table cleaners with iPads on their hips do it? ). They wouldn't to tell us how long the ordering wait would be -- we'd been there 20 minutes already -- and as for how long the food would take -- who knows? And the staff were dismissive and rude, they seemed to take the attitude that it was a privilege for us to enter their hallowed halls and that we should be grateful. So we left, and won't return.

Super relaxed pub/restaurant. Literally used to be the golf clubhouse. Diverse menu including plenty of Scottish stuff, fresh fish, steaks, curry of the day etc. old fashioned comfort puddings (double nougat wafer ice cream!). Chatty, friendly service. Extensive wine list for those with deep pockets. Lots of free on-street parking if you need it.

Have been here a number of times over the years and this visit with the family has been a massive let down. Blonde server with the white top was nothing short of curt. Tried to explain that an extra meal had been brought over to the table but she would not listen and had a surly attitude. This type of rudeness absolutely does not belong in this environment if you are trying to provide the top level service which would be expected at this venue. Food was average, steaks were poor compared to a few weeks ago when we were last in. Very disappointed as we have been to the restaurant on several occasions and have always been more than happy with the food & service. Massive question mark as to whether we will be back after this experience.
