Luxurious 5-star breakfast experience. The Bonnie Badger in Gullane epitomises elegance, sophistication, and unparalleled gastronomy. The décor is tastefully curated and fits in perfectly well with the restaurant itself. From Tom Kitchens breakfast menu, each dish that we ordered was a masterpiece, artfully presented and bursting with flavor.Furthermore, the service at The Bonnie Badger is impeccable. From the warm welcome at the door to the attentive care throughout the meal, every aspect is tailored to exceed expectations. The staff exudes professionalism and genuine warmth, ensuring that every guest feels like royalty from start to finish even our cubs were treated with courtesy & respect.

Second time at Bonnie Badger and same issues so felt impelled to leave a review this time.On this occasion we booked a table in the pub/bar area for food and drinks. Entered through the hotel/restaurant entrance and both reception desks were unmanned so made our way directly to the bar area. Advised a member of staff we had a table booked and he went to grab a couple of menus. At this point a female member of staff who we later established was based at reception, passive aggressively suggested if we had waited to be seen the reception we?d be seated sooner and hoped this doesn?t spoil our meal. Not entirely sure what she was implying but it absolutely wasn?t welcomed and quite frankly left me annoyed for the rest of our visit. We ordered drinks (Guinness and a soft drink). Aware this is petty but the Guinness arrived in a tankard style beer glass and not a Guinness pint glass which is just wrong. Like serving a dram in a high ball glass. We ordered olives with our drinks which never arrived so had to ask for these to be removed from the bill. No apology received.Main meals were fantastic. Steak pie was amazing and visually stunning for a pie.No one came to check at any point if our meal was satisfactory and we had to flag staff down for more drinks. All in all the food is magic but the service just isn?t up to scratch.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel complimented by the amazing food and drink. We attended the winter experience hosted by Tom himself. The food and accompanying wine was great. Overall expensive but worth it. The following night we ate in the restaurant as part of the dinner bed and breakfast package and the food was once again exceptional. The lamb was sensational. Breakfast on both morning was well presented and service was great. We sat in the bar on both afternoons, it does get busy with walk in guests but the staff were so attentive with everyone that it never felt too busy. Great drinks on offer. Overall this place is a little bit of luxury, and you do pay for it? but for us worth the money. We will return.

Second time here to eat, seafood is always amazing, but also the pub/ bar food. Have vegetarian and vegan options. Today service/ kitchen was a bit slow but staff very friendly. Are dog friendly too which is great. In the summer, outdoor seating with BBQ was fantastic.Food & drinks: Amazing seafood from the grill. Sitting outside in beautiful garden. Staff very friendly and professional. Will be back for more.

Second visit as a party of 4. The young lad looking after our table did a great job. We ordered bar snacks, mains and a meal off the children's menu. There was a bit of a wait for our drinks. Shortly after the bar snack plates were cleared the children's meal arrived but none of the other mains arrived. We weren't asked or advised the children's meal would come out as soon as it was ready so we didn't eat together. There was no rush for the children's meal as it was for a 10 year old. We had to ask for gravy for the children's sausage and mash. The sausages in both the children and adults sausage and mash were extremely salty. The vegetable side dishes were tasty.I will return to see what it's like in the summer.Noteworthy details: Dog friendly

Situated in Gullane on the main road, the Stables at the Bonnie Badger are carefully renovated, modern but with a touch of the classic rural establishment. Service is adequate and food is just above average.

My friend and I had been a walk along the beach on NYE and fancied something to eat. Headed into the Bonnie Badger and I was really anxious as between us we had 3 dogs - one very big bulldog and 2 smaller dogs who were quite excited. I get really nervous eating out with my doggo as he can be very restless. I am so thankful to all the staff (especially the hostess on the front desk - young blonde girl) for making me feel like we weren?t out of place and we were totally welcome including the dogs. Food was very delicious too. Thank you all, we will be back!
