The Greenock Tesco is clean and well stocked, while the staff are friendly and helpful. If you are looking to find old world charm and ambiance, you won't find it here, but you will find about everything else.

We travel regularly to this Tesco from Johnstone a distance about 19 miles but my wife now has to use a wheelchair to get round and the absence of wheelchair trolleys is shocking the other week I asked a member of staff just shrugged and said one was broken and the rest were out but when had to use a basket we only seen one other being used in the whole of the store terrible for a large 24hour store

Tesco has always been my favourite supermarket, but this one was incredible. Trying to buy a TV, where most of them were collect a few days later, but I simply wanted one now. 1 member of staff didn't know which ones were in stock & left us to check. After 12 minutes we decided to find someone else and found the man we were waiting for stocking shelfs. Then when we asked another member of staff, she said nothing and walked away. We just looked at each other and decided to leave, however we found her 'dragging the tv box behind her. Paid and since I walk with a stick, along with a fractured wrist, asked if someone could help us take the tv to the car. The reply "It's not heavy, just awkward. You should be fine." As a Tesco shareholder and customer, this is the worst retail experience I have had anywhere and will be writing a letter of complaint too! If only I could give zero stars...

I find that the lighting at either side of the building is very poor which isn't suitable for those with difficulty seeing in low light conditions.

Oh dear how soulless can shopping get ? Perhaps as dispiriting as another Tesco score. You could only come here for the price and convenience. It is true that there is a good range of products and there are priced fairly competitively. However, to get these you have to firstly enter an unpleasant, cramped, covered car park. The congestion here will get you ready for the crush inside and the jostling to get around the aisles. This claustrophobic feel is heightened by the development of an upper floor which reduces the feeling of space. If it is 3:30 in the morning and you urgently need a food-processor this is the place for you (and at this time it might not be too busy)

I love Tesco, and I seriously have no clue why. I try my best to help out local business as much as possible. I know my butcher by name and my greengrocer knows my favourate vegetables, but there's just something about Tesco that makes me feel warm and cosy. I think its my security blanket. My family shopped at Tesco for as long as I can rememeber. The Tesco on Dalrymple Street in particular was always my favourite. The anonising cry of mourning that I shreaked when it closed for refurbishing could be heard high and low and across the water. But to my joy, it opened up again, and with two levels! The bottom floor is full of all your regular shopping stuff. Isle upon isle of absolute bargains that us that live in the city so no sign off. The first isle when you walk in is a must - full of all the best offers and temping you immediately. Do I really need 4Kg of rice? Not really, but I get another one free! Done. The top floor is full of homeware and clothing. Great for kitting out a new flat with all the essentials you would take for granted at home. An asset to Greenock but remember your butcher!

This store is easy enough to find and there is a good range of car parking spaces including some undercover but it is tight and there are a number of cars that drive too fast. The store is split onto two levels with the upper level stocking the toys, electrical items such as laptops and freeview boxes, cds, dvds etc. The clothes are also here and the home furnishings. The main food shopping is located on the first floor as you go in. The aisles can feel quite cramped but I like to look at the books as they usually have special offers and the books are quite recent. You will find all you need in this store from rolls, to cakes to washing powder. I have never had to wait too long in a queue and the staff are friendly enough. The entrance is undercover and is quite dull but it is an okay supermarket.

Tesco Extra Store in Dalrymple street Greenock, I dont quite really like shopping in there, but I feel I had to shop in there, as it got a Pharmacy in there. However, when I need something from the chemist, I had to go there. I hated their car par, feel too small and cramped, and my car got dented twice by their car park! Even in the shop-floor in-store, it is far too cramped, and annoying while the trollies are in the way, and the customer services are bit rubbish. Even too many long queues, and I hated this store myself. It is too cluttered, squashed, less roomy, no windows, no daylight to get in, and the ceiling are far too low, and messy. Feels like I need to GET OUT of there as quickly as possible! This store is far more rubbish than compared to the before, when it have expanded to Extra store!
