Vegetables with the steak pie could have done with a bit longer in the pot, as were a bit under done, and would have like boiled or roast potatoes rather than mashed potato served as not everyone's favorite choice.
And I thought the steak had to much fat left on it, which i don't like a lot of and puts me off this kind of dish.
So marked it down one star for this reason
otherwise service and the rest of the meal was good.

Love Cafe Balfe. Mine and hubbies favourite place for breakfast. Staff lovely and friendly and nothing is a bother. Tried different places but keep coming back here. Also good value. ??

Great wee cafe on the main street, been coming here for years! Reliable coffee and lunch spot. Almost always have tables free.

Popped in for breakfast which I used to really enjoy, always had the vegetarian breakfast, over cooked egg, beans and potato scone pretty awful, tiny amount of avocado and poached egg undercooked which had to be returned to kitchen, so disappointed as used to enjoy a balfe breakfast.

Had the ballet burger and chunky chips. Chips were delicious but burger I found tasteless, even added salt to it but no improvement. Left half of it.

Dirty dishes, the glass I was given had lipstick stains, and personally didn't like the Bolognese sauce. It was a bit sour and didn't have enough taste. Also, the dishes don't match the interior and atmosphere of the Café.
