When you visit Muchrach.. you feel their warmth and genuine care for one another as a family ? which lends the place a quiet serenity, a feeling of safety and cozy comfort that permeates the atmosphere. It?s the smells ofthe memory of childhood cotton candy, with the fresh after shower in the spring, the peals of laughters of children playing in the sun, with the quirky fabric scarfs you play around your necks in the fall, and the comforting substance of warm soups on winter nightsAnd perhaps, the cackling of woods in the fireplace, as you curl up under a wool blanket with a book.Because here, you are at home with ppl you can trust with your cares and rest.

We stayed in the Cairngorm Cottage. It was beautiful! We all really enjoyed our stay. House had everything you needed and was immaculate. Scenery stunning. The only thing I would change would be if one of the bedrooms had single beds for a family with children and a fan in the bedroom upstairs as it can get very warm. However excellent and hope to return in the future. Ps. Such a shame the hotel has closed as being able to walk across to the hotel for a lovely meal would have been perfect, we have had many lovely meals there before and happy memories. Hope you manage to open again one day ??

Just returned from two nights stay and I can genuinely say that it some of the best food I have ever tasted and the cleanest rooms we have stayed in overnight. This coupled with staff who truly engage with their residents to ensure they are delivering the ?experience?.Head Chef, Peter who went to the bother of asking customers about their stay and giving his back story as well as serving some of the food , was an excellent touch.A very memorable stay for all the right reasons.Keep up the great work

We loved the accommodations and restaurant! Very comfortable, firm beds and luxurious bathrooms with probably the best rainfall shower I?ve seen yet. The chef here is skilled in using top quality local produce and offering traditional Scottish dishes with a twist. Don?t miss visiting their two Highland Coos on site! Staff and hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Me and 4 friends took a road trip through this beautiful landscape and stumbled across this hotel, we only went in for a hot drink but truly it was an amazing experience. It has the comfort of home, the presence of an old country manor and the sophistication of one of the very best places to stay. Thank you to the friendly and welcoming staff, we would absolutely recommend this place and will make sure we come again as soon as we can.

We came for dinner earlier in the week. My fish starter was exquisite, with so many flavors to savor. For mains I had the venison. One of if not the best meal I?ve ever had. The venue and staff exceeded all expectations. The Muckrach is simply effortless class.

Absolutely fantastic experience, the interior has a Scottish theme to it! The hotel supplied some amazing food, and the effort that was put into presenting the dish was beautiful! Also the staff were so friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend people that are visiting near by to pop in on the passing! The rooms are beautiful too with nice views!!!!

My wife and I had an excellent and unforgettable stay with them. Their whole team made us feel welcome with their excellent customer service. Their food was superb as well. They were very warm and it just made us feel at home. We will definitely come back. The only downside was that their highland cows were too adorable that I no longer got attention from my wife and it was all on them...

We were here for a wedding and stayed for three nights. We had a wonderful time, the setting is lovely the hotel and rooms are excellent, we stayed in the Glenfiddich room which was spacious and clean with beautiful toiletries, towels and robes and a hospitality tray. The wedding was fantastic in every aspect and everything ran like clockwork, food was lovely and service was excellent. Special mention to Emma who went above and beyond to cater for the guests ,a true asset to the team also Jack who was also very helpful. The only complaint is that drinks are very overpriced but I suppose 5 star hotel warrants 5 star prices. Would certainly recommend.

We had often thought about this trip and finally managed it. Having had a recommendation from someone else we decided to book for lunch. The warm welcome provided by staff on arrival and who encouraged us to have a look around was memorable. We were offered drinks to help us contemplate the lunch menu in the library. This delightful room is comfortable and relaxed. The goats cheese starter for my friend whilst I chose the Stornoway black pudding and haggis truffle - delightful. Our main courses met approval too. Featherblade of shorthorn beef was a great choice.

Four of us today had the most fabulous Sunday lunch outing here. The staff, menu, food, surroundings, absolutely everything was the VERY best we could have hoped for. The choice of food, the presentation, service, taste AND value - first class ! Thank you Muckrach - we WILL certainly be back! ???

After an exhausting day completing the last section of the 93 mile Moray Loop, dragging ourselves into Grantown at 5 p.m. on a winter evening, tired and hungry, we phoned the Muckrach, which we had visited in the past. We were told they only started serving meals at 6 p.m. but they would try and rustle up something for us if we wanted to pitch up earlier. We arrived at around 5.20 or so, to be greeted by the Australian Bar manager, who told us the chef would be happy to prepare something for us if we chose from the extensive menu. Sure enough twenty minutes or so later, our food arrived, beautifully presented, freshly cooked and delicious. Congratulations to the chef and the young lady providing bar and greeting service!

Another lovely stay at muckrach. We stayed one of self catering apartments and it was really beautifully furnished and incredibly comfortable. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area in the apartment was ideal for a family dinner on the first night and the bedrooms were spacious with fantastic bathrooms. We enjoyed the 'game of thrones' inspired theme for the weekend including chocolate making ( messy but great fun) and a fabulous dinner on the Saturday night. The food was exquisite, the staff great fun and really attentive. The highlght of the weekend was hand feeding oat cakes to Hamish and Dougal the sweet highland cows.
