We got stuck in bad weather and had to book into this hotel urgently. They were expecting 3 people that night but ended up with all 16 rooms booked. You would not be able to tell that they were massively short staffed due to this. They treated us very well, were attentive and every member of staff we dealt with was chatty and friendly. The rooms were spotless and we had a comfy night.Breakfast was very good, plenty of variety and despite only 1 member of staff to wait the tables, she was excellent and we wanted for nothing.I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for five nights to spend a few days winter walking and to celebrate New Year's Eve.The location is perfect for exploring the Cairngorms with every possible outdoor activity near enough on the doorstep. The hotel is excellent with views over the mountains. It has a large car park and the interior is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with all the modern amenities you'd find in a good quality hotel. The staff are exceptional. Very friendly and polite and go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The restaurant is reasonably priced and both breakfast and dinner were beautifully cooked, piping hot and plenty of it.The hotel is perfect whether stopping overnight or a longer stay to explore the Cairngorms National Park.

Nothing too much trouble. Chap on reception was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Glad we got stuck here due to snow! Far superior to any other accommodation we had on our trip in Scotland. Thanks!

We came here for dinner. I was nervous how empty the dining room was, but more guests joined as the night went on. The food was very good and the service attentive. Lovely view out into the garden.

Food & drinks: Dropped in for supper. Pleasantly surprised by quality of both the food and the service.

Had dinner here with family. The food, while not overly fancy, was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. The staff were friendly and helpful but service could do with a little refinement - wine glasses were carried to the table with a finger in each glass rather than by the stem and coffee sloshed over the side of the cup as it arrived. Just little things that take edge off

Went for dinner and the food and service were great. I had a perfectly cooked rare steak with fluffy home made chips. Would recommend a visit

Had dinner in the restaurant on Sunday evening. They fitted us in despite being busy. Limited but good Sunday menu. Food good and plentiful with excellent service from a young , friendly eager to please team. Prices very reasonable for both food and drinks. Dining room, reception , entrance and toilets were spotless!

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Historic building, well maintained. Excellent car park facilities. Pretty well maintained outside area, ideal for a drink and lunch. Very close, easy walk in to Grantown on Spey. Bus service outside.

We stopped off here for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful visit. We chose to dine outside in the beer garden as we had a dog with us and the weather was good. The staff were very friendly and attentive (especially Sheila who was very kind to the dog with treats). The food was served quickly, tasted superb and was very reasonably priced (£20 pp for 2 courses). Will definitely be stopping off again next time we are passing through.

1st time for me and my family. 7 of us in total. Heard good things and it was a 50/50 choice between this restaurant and another close by. We opted for this one due to the children's menu. After being seated, we waited 25 minutes before being asked for drinks. I could see they were busy and also understaffed but that is no excuse. We then ordered, portion sizes were small and we all left feeling hungry. The food wasn't too bad, so there are no complaints. When the food arrived we we had to chase the waiter twice after already asking twice for some vinegar. 4 times we asked in total for some vinegar!! It would of been nice if when the food arrived if we required anything else, sadly this didn't happen. The guy running things had some banter and did a great job in the bar area. However I do feel the staff need more training in front of house especially if they want repeat customers.

Think this hotel has tried hard to ? upgrade? it?s amenities, but is very ? tired? Ground floor room was stifling hot with no AC and ability to open windows to the street. Restaurant food was ? marginal? Bar staff , however, were very helpful. Grantown on Spey would not make our itinerary on any future visit to Scotland.
