Well, I'd give the room a 3 maybe but, when we arrived, it was bloody freezing!! Turned the heater on which felt like a very old person tryin to blow hot air so, we left to go get supper & hoped it would be warm for us coming back... How optimistic we were & how disappointed we wound up?Eventually the room het upThe bed itself was 2 singles pressed together, so there was no snuggling to be had thanks to the hard centre, don't know if that's a good thing or not for some people, but I'm a snuggler?The beds were comfy enough though, the pillows were good alsoSome... Questionable stains on our sheets but, had to sleep nonetheless ?????The bedside cabinets had crumbs inside their drawers... Tasty...Everything else about the room though was... Well, it was a room, did the job. No hangers though for jackets etc, strangely found that odd??????The bathroom, my God, I thought I let my bathroom get grimey & disgusting sometimes but wow, this bathroom makes mine look like it should be in a magazine of the best bathroom's ever??The shower though, wish I could give that 5 stars ???The TV has plenty channels?And finally, when we arrived, it was supper time so, no one was on the reception at all, understandably, but even when standing at the restaurant door no one would take us on... But they were busy so, I get itBut checkin out was quick & easy?Rooms: Read the review, it's all in there?

Booked two rooms as was with family. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with a WC toilet provided in one of the rooms. Those mentioning no hair dryer just didn't look in the rooms thoroughly enough, as my room had a hair dryer in one of the drawers. A kettle, coffee and milk was provided in both rooms. Service was excellent, with staff being friendly. They gave us extra pillows and duvets when kindly requested, and although there were no hot breakfast options on the morning, I can't complain as there was a variety of cereal options, orange and apple juice, butter and jams with tea and coffee readily available. Toast was plentiful with you being able to ask for more if you needed. Couldn't complain about the prices as I got both rooms, breakfast provided in under £200.Rooms: Rooms were spacious, clean and sanitary as well as comfortable for guests. Chairs, hangers and drawers were provided as well as lamps, a kettle, coffee and a sofa in the room available.Food & drinks: Breakfast was stripped of hot food options on the day I stayed but I wasn't disappointed as there were a variety of cereals, tea, coffee, toast and spreads such as nutella, marmalade and jams available as well as juices.Noteworthy details: There are indeed hairdryers inside the rooms, people who mentioned no hairdryers just didn't check the drawers on their rooms.

A boxing day meal ,a great value festive menu ,helpful staff a really varied menu ,all for £19.95 ,for three courses ,can't praise the hotel enough

We were out for a family meal last week...couldnt fault the food the service or the staff...young waitress called sky really stood out too.....was an excellent night ??

A large party attended a party night on Saturday 2nd December. The whole room was so packed that you could not speak to anyone other than the person next to you. The service was very poor and the staff were not properly trained, hardly old enough to be there. The food was only passable, the one item really edible was the turkey. The bar and managerial staff were rude and abrupt. The only good thing about the evening was the DJ and the people we were with. I would definitely not recommend this hotel for a party night.

The food was good, the bar was pleasant. The hotel rooms left a lot to be desired - the bathroom needed a deep clean, lots of black mould around bath and shower; 2 (ex shop) coat hangers isn't really sufficient in a double room; duvet barely covered mattress which led to a poor night sleep. Breakfast seemed to be limited choice wise (no fruit, no yoghurt, no porridge???) but as there were no menus available it was hard to say. The staff,for the most part, were friendly.

Rooms were nice and clean - though no hairdryers available even though the website said the rooms did have them. Staff were very friendly, polite and approachable. Very accommodating, breakfast was fantastic and again, staff were super helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend this place and will be going back.

Had my wedding reception here, couldn't fault them in anyway, staff so pleasant and helpful nothing to much for them. Liam and Stuart were fantastic from start to finish with all arrangements , fantastic venue for any occasion, definitely recommend.

The place is clean, the staff excellent and the food delicious. The rooms are OK however, the mattress in our room was, putting it mildly, knackered.Come on Gilvenbank Chang those mattresses.

My Family of 16 enjoyed a fantastic High Tea there last Sunday . Starting with toast tea or coffee . For the main meal what a great choice to pick from Roast of the day,Curry ,lasagne burgers and lots more and everyone said was delicious . Next there was a plate of warm scones with butter ,jam and cream and plate of small cakes and plenty to taste a few of you were able to. The while meal was fantastic .well worth a visit.
