Absolutely amazing train station and museum

The love and passion for keeping the history of the Glenfinnan Station made possible this museum. It's small but managed to bring back to life, and in perfect conditions, the old station. The experience is like travelling back in time. The staff is friendly and always willing to explain further about the history and use of the tools and gadgets on display. The ticket price is a donation from £1.- and includes the entrance to the museum and a replica of an original train ticket from an old ticket machine. There is also a souvenirs' shop.If you are visiting the viaduct just drive a bit further or walk 15' more, it'll paid off.

Leuk om het station te zien. Er is een betaald museum bij. Vanaf hier loop ook een trail naar de brug (pittig)

It's not often visited by the hoards of tourists standing patiently down the line for the steam train to puff over the bridge.Well worth the stop. A wee museum and the dining car too for good food.

To be fair this must be literally the smallest museum I've ever had the pleasure to visit. That being said, it was very informative. It is located in the station office. There is a small scale model showing how the Glenfinnan viaduct arches where constructed. It is free to enter. We visited whilst taking a trip on the Jacobite express, which is another great story.

The Jacobite train is fun to do, you drive over the viaduct from Harry Potter and you see beautiful nature... the first stop is at Glenfinnan station. You can buy tickets online......or go there on spec, they often still have tickets.....you have to pay for the tickets in cash.

Great place to learn of the history of the viaduct. Only £1! There is railway memorabilia to look round, including a signal box, old coaches, and posters dotted around. actually on the land of Glenfinnan Station, where we saw the Royal Scotsman train. An old dining is now a beautiful cafe.

Niet zozeer het station, maar de treinreis met de Jacobite is echt geweldig. Ik heb nog nooit zoiets moois gezien als deze omgeving!!

After watching Mabel cross the Glenfinnan viaduct, we made the trek to the station museumIt was a bit of a hike and mostly uphill. The station is full of antique train station relics and equipment, pictures and storyboards to read.

Very interesting exhibit and much more to it than we expected. Amazing history of bridge construction. Nice but not easy walk to bridge viewpoint. Needs some degree of fitness as its steep in places. But well worth the effort. Avoid the £7 irn bru in the cafe though. Food was nice though and good service. Will take american visitors next time they're here.
