Standards at this company have declined considerably over the years, staff lack of betting knowledge makes this company easy to avoid.

Something that occupies just about every street and by now we all accept the presence of bookmakers, with the hopefuls who go in here to possibly waste the little money they have or to make a lazy attempt to get some more money to spend at the pub. I feel guilty as soon as I enter a bookmakers, just because I get the instant feeling of hopelessness when I look around and see so many men, and it is generally always men, just whittling away their money on computerised roulette, or some starved greyhound on the screens. This bookmakers I have used when accompanying a friend to make a one off bet on the weekend of football ahead. I did notice that you are able to bet on just about every sporting event that you could have thought of, not to mention when the games are less exciting or the gamblers need extra stimulation there is always the little plastic horse machine to bet on, or a puggy to slot some uncared for change into. I really didn't want to gamble while in but I see the draw, these games are fun but without the high betting fees nowadays that have risen somewhat since the time I went in there with my grandpa many years ago to put on a bet or the Grand National. Not only that,, the tiny pencils that used to be on offer are no more, instead there are tiny blue covered pens to use.

If i ever feel that my life isn't heading in the right direction, a trip to the bookies always cheers me up as I realise it could actually be far, far worse. Like most bookmakers, a few pretty downtrodden characters can be found hanging around here. I won't sneer to much though, as the occasional bet or football coupon is a good laugh, and it's a great buzz to see your horse romping home.
